Anyone see the Meteor at 7am?

No, I was looking at my breakfast. ROSAT re-entered the Earth's atmosphere between 01:45 and 02:15 GMT and crashed in southeast Asia .

No pigeon. It was quick only a few seconds, but it had a tail and everything.

A flying squirrel perhaps?

Just after 7am i was walking to the train station and i saw a meteor in what looked like the north west area of the sky. I think it might have been that German satellite that was meant to be falling down. Anyone see it?

It was the tail of Halley's comet.

see http://www.spaceweather.com

Best visible early morning ( when dark, obviously ) UK. May still see some for the next few days.

Meteor is correct as it has entered the Earth's atmosphere, before that as it travelled through space it was a Meteoroid and if it reached the ground without fully burning up only then does it become a Meteorite

It was the german satellite. They even said in the paper that they have no idea where it is.

Well that's a stupid statement. "Nobody has any idea where it is." Groen: "Oh, it must be here."

That's practically as bad as saying "Look, a UFO. It must be aliens!"
