Income should be capped at 100k a year.
LOLZ, yes that would work well.
Work/life balance and personal ambitions and aspirations also play a huge part.
I know that if I really knuckled down and work very hard, I could earn much more, but I think everyone has their own plateau when effort put in stops being worth the remuneration.
I doubt I would enjoy the effort and time involved with earning £60k+, and I am a pretty easily pleased person without insane materialistic desire (like some of my friends).
I know someone on £90k, who is on call 24/7, works 6 days a week, 12 hours weekdays, 8 hours Saturday.
She loves it, and would actually get really agitated if she had nothing to do.
So she works a 68 hour week, and is actually working 95% of that time.
I work a 40 hour week, and probably am only actually working 50% of that time (how else would I be posting on here all day?)
She effectively earns £30/hour.
I effectively earn £25/hour.
Double my effort to earn 20% more? No thanks.
Agree, depends on the person but i prefer more time off and doing 38 hours a week, whenever i go away and pull 12 hours a day it kills me.
