Origin installed and up to date.

Battlefield 3 installed and release date check passed.

Start game, web browser opens Battlelog page, but doesn't log me in as it did with the Alpha and Beta. I type Origin login details into Battlelog. Nothing happens. It says I need to buy the game.

Check internet for solutions.

Non found.

Logs in to EA Live chat support.

Explains problem.

After long winded and drawn out conversation with an idiot who asks for the CD key, which I won't give him.

The solution is to sign up for a Warhammer Online account so I sign a new terms of service agreement.

Doing my F'in head in.

I can't even figure how to install the game, i have installed this origin crap what ever it is and now made 2 different accounts on it and it is still telling me my passwords are wrong.

There not wrong...

Can anyone please help this issue is really anoying today.
I have the latest drivers installed but as soon as I load a game and it goes to fullscreen size is just freezes.

Are you running crossfire?

I had this issue in the beta, would work fine on a single card or in window, but as soon as I went to crossfire, it would crash.

Turns out it was my power supply :| Didnt have enough power for both cards and BF3 really pushed it to the edge.

My pre order arrived a while ago from game, just getting it patched up and ready to rock now hopefully it will all go smoothly.

Unlocked jet flares and heatseekers.

Imo jet flares are 50/50 in terms of fooling enemy missiles. I think a lot of it is to do with timing the deployment of flares right.

Heatseekers are good if enemy jet is right in your sight and you can get a good aim.

However for close dog fight with a lot of manoeuvrability, the default cannon gun is the way to go. It has definitely been powered up from previous alpha/beta :)

Flares are 100% working, as you said, you just need to time it right. Don't use them until the locked sound becomes hideous. There's 3 stages to the sounds.

The first beeping noise is saying that someone is tracking and locking on to you.

The second stage noise is that they have acquired a lock (this is where you should try and evade, turn hard etc to get out of their target reticule).

The third stage is where you deploy flares. This is a nasty sound that basically means rockets are locked on to you and smashing through the air as quick as they can to get to you. Deploy the flares here. I usually wait a second or so before deploying them because most pilots will fire off both heatseakers - which has a slight delay between shots, so I try to make sure that both rockets are in the air before I dump flares! Otherwise they could just save the second rocket until you're pass the flare range.

There you go, Jet Survivability Training 101 ;)

*EDIT*

From this, you should learn how to counter the above quite quickly. Try not to fire both missiles at the same time if you know they haven't dumped flares. If they have dumped flares, hit them with both rockets.

Also a tip, as you launch the missiles, swap to the chain gun and get a few hits with that. The reason being is that both rockets will NOT destroy a jet, only disable it and send it hurtling around in the sky. Most people will jump out, meaning you get no kill. If you can land a few good main gun shots on it before or as the rockets are hitting it, you'll get the disable, kill and destroy bonuses at the same time, instead of missing out on the kill and destroy. ;)

Great game so far, will definitely play some more today, had a sneak peak last night. But WHY are they using battlelog, is it that hard to have everything built into the game, really not a fan of this browser based crap

Bit annoyed.

Ordered with GMG, great price, and ALSO got 10% off that reduced price. Really nice.

However, my code is one of the ones that wasn't sent :( Also, it's only affecting a small of people. But apparently it will take 24 hours to sort out. Bit annoying :(

I am running i5 2500k at 4.4 <-- might drop the oc off it and see what happens
with a 6870
my power supply is perfectly capable and the system is cooled well.

I must admit that I am missing this not being on steam for ease. But hey ho we cant rely on one platform.

Anyone else with the DVD copy taking ages to install? Been going like an hour now and is loading away from the disc and downloading as well? 11.1GB total size

Yeh I thought it would install the game from the disc but it started downloading from origin.
What's the point in having two discs (or any discs) if its going download the whole game anyway?

Or could I have chosen to use the disc at some point?

EDIT: It was just installing from the disc it just looked like a download. I was wondering how I was getting 12MB/sec on a 20Mbps connection.

You'll actually find that the jet spawns do not become available for about 10-15 seconds after people start spawning, it is to stop exactly this.

If you stay on the deploy screen for a few seconds, without pressing deploy, you will see the jets appear after a few seconds for you to spawn right into.

Ahhh right, cheers. So I just have to be less keen to hit the DEPLOY button then.

This game is amazing by the way.

I have i5 2500k (stock)
ASUS P8z68 Pro
8GB Corsair Vengeance
1 x 5850 @ 800/1200
Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB
Xfi Xtreme Gamer Fatility (the sound is immense)
8MB Sky connection
Windows 7

At 1680 x 1050 (90 FOV) I can run all ultra, no MSAA, low post AA, no SSAO/HBAO and maintain excellent framerates with no slowdown (only a tiny bit of noticeable slowdown on Operation Firestorm).

However; with everything on High, other than models and terrain on ultra, HBAO on, no MSAA and med post AA the performance is flawless. The difference between high and ultra seems negligible in image quality terms, but HBAO makes it look a LOT better over no HBAO, so I choose to run at those settings.

Explosions are the best I've ever seen and the sound is ridiculous, I use my studio DJing headphones and it rattles your brain. My mouse is carp though, seems to want a higher resolution this game..

I fail at computers... doing my head in...

This origin is telling me my account is logged in on another computer so i can't log in... Never had such a annoying install process...Still not figured how to install it....

Im gunna go get some food and have another go later before lappy goes through window lol

Yea definitely install it on to an SSD if you can, got mine running off a Vertex 3 120gb which sees me generally in the server before many others :p

I'm waiting on a DVD copy of BF3 so not installed Origin or the game or anything so...when installing on SSD would I need to install Origin and the game on the SSD or can Origin go on another drive? What gives best performance? Excuse my noobness but don't really know how origin works..

You can change where to install games in the options.

I did read some where that if you have the disk version origin will says it's download but infactis is installing from the disk.

But that information could be wrong :(

I think it's right, someone mentioned in this thread yesterday saying it looked like it was downloading but was installing from the disk.
