Indian Grand Prix 2011, Buddh International Circuit - Race 17/19

Ricciardo has been given a 5 place penalty for a gearbox change.
He'll be starting 28th then :D I'd have a fiver on the safety and medical cars beating him if they need to make up the numbers :p

Should make the him start 100 yards further back down the road or something as a grid penalty is a waste of time for them!

So, the blocking rule. Both cars were on a hot lap, there was nowhere to move over...

Ditch the blocking rule - it serves no-one. If you can't get a clear space - tough titties.

lol, Button goes slower than Vettel with the soft tyre, opps.

Button really doesn't seem to like throwing the car around when the car is, iffy. Vettel/Hamilton seem to love it when the car is on the edge and sliding around like crazy, they'll push it, Button seems to just back off badly in the same situation.

That or he's got a major car problem, but based on practice 1-3 he didn't show any problems at all.

I would note, that the first 17, were covered by 1.3 seconds, so it is hardly a surprise that things were a bit close.

Its only covered by 1.3seconds because half of them used tyres that seem around 1.5seconds faster for a change, IE, all on the same tyres and that would be closer to 3 seconds, and to be honest, I doubt Hamilton/Vettel actually did the fastest lap possible. Watch for them to do what Red Bull did last week and see if they can get into Q3 on the same set of harder tyres, which probably means they were trying to go easy on those hard tyres.

Oh, anyone else notice that Ferrari have spelt Dan Wheldon's name wrong on the crash hemlets? Someone went to the effort to find the DW logo, and then spell his name wrong.

D'OH!

Queue teams strategically blocking each others hot laps whilst on their in/outlaps.

If that's true, ouch for Button, second new set in this session, back to set 1 for a banker in Q3, then the 3rd new soft set for final run in Q3, burn up 3 sets of tyres in qualifying.

Then again, I don't know, are tyres going to wear out quicker with a dirty track? I don't know, but I can't see hards being the better option considering how much slower they are this time around.

There's already a minimum laptime the cars have to do on the out and in laps, so if the teams can't include that into their calculations *I'd be surprised if they didn't already* then they need new strategists.

The only team that would suffer from this that I can think of is McLaren, but they need new strategists anyway. ;)

Lol interesting story from Brundle about Webbers front wing going missing after his Monza crash...........month later Ferrari turn up with a wobbly wing ;)

?¿?

You were talking explicitly about drivers blocking each other.

On a separate note, lmao if that RBR Monza wing rumour is true.
