Battlefield 3 thread - Server details in opening post -

Just started playing this today, I am awful but really, really enjoying it.

I actually havn't played the online side of an FPS game properly (eg more than a couple days) since BF1942, what made that enjoyable was quite a few of my mates playing it and since a load of them have bought this too hopeing to recreate those days with BF3.

It's not implemented properly, the UI is horrible, other players can't see or hear your requests so it's basically useless as it is now. The most important ammo and medic requests are not even in. Apparently it's gonna be patched to BF2 standards, we will see.

I don't think i will bothered with SP tbh, i didn't buy Battlefield 3 so that i could press E when prompted to!

On the other hand, i need to practice flying.

Had a good few rounds on the Bronken server. Wish I was a bit better but until I get a new mouse I suck.

few thoughts:
maps arent good enough for the most part
the bloom is ridiculous
battlelog is ok, but its the most retardded thing having 2 friends list
the jets are stupidly implemented - by having to earn lock ons you effectively are a sitting duck and have to luck out to get kills enough to get the missiles
gun mechanics are pretty good
we need the old school maps sooner rather than later.

Nope. as people never really notice and would be better if a text came up rather than your player saying it.

been on all afternoon..really enjoying conquest..ive only got a gtx275 so had to put everything on low.....but the game looks good even on the lowest settings..i'd ordered a 560ti in the week..should come tuesday....it was only after i'd ordered ..that all the bad posts of 560ti's crashing the game came to light...oh well ..just hope mine is one of the ok ones..gonna check out the co=op mode in a bit

I have GTX560Ti and the game never ever crashed, and I finished SP completely and played for several hours of MP... (started today).

I'd have to completely disagree. I think the map design is superb. Tehran highway's technical design excluded.

I love Damavand peak, in both CQ and Rush it's just fantastic. They've all got a distinct feeling and playing style.

Nope - TFU is the only server I get major lag spikes from.

Wow just noticed my veteran status on battlelog

Any idea how to update this?
Mine says I am a BF2 and a BC2 veteran, which is true, but I also played BF1942 and 2142. I never played BF Vietnam though (but had the Vietnam add-on to BC2).
