Battlefield 3 thread - Server details in opening post -

I really wish that the flags were lettered on the map. Also, how does one go about using voice chat in the game? I really would like to talk to squad members etc

I would also LOVE if there were 3 different sizes to the map when you press M, instead of just two choices, small or huge.

Also, does anyone know how to get the shotgun, L88 machine gun which was supposed to be part of the physical warfare pre order bonus~? Are EA supposed to email me a key or something?

For me Firestorm is the best map, totally epic!
I still have not played Kharg Island. I enjoyed Seine crossing as well, though i have only played it once.

Just bought BF3 today. The only other online shooter I've played is Team Fortress 2.

Suffice to say, I'm completely and utterly lost.

Had a look at the manual - not helpful. Does anyone know of a good introductory youtube vid for the PC version of the game?

Hang on, when you die and get revived, does this count as a kill? I don't think it does....which in that case the average K : D ratio should be WAY over 1.0.

I was wondering this actually, i died quite a few times in a game earlier but was revived a lot and at the end it said i only died 3 times so it didn't count them as deaths. I hope that is the way they are doing it and not a bug

Got it in the post today. Took ages to install but finally in. First thing is it looks good, but it's so laggy and I'm pretty sure it's not my pc. I'm also quite happy that my 4890 can run it with most things on high

Shame that the communication isn't sorted (comma rose?), that was a key part of the last battlefield.

Oh and I've only killed one person so far, this game is ridiculously hard when you start!

Anyone experimented with the AA settings? I find the hit too noticable, even if I put post only to Low, so I leave both of them off. Jaggies aren't too bad at 1200p.

Anyone get any issues with having no sound? I seem to get it after running the game previously. I have to do a restart to fix it :s

Go here and then sign in with your Origin account. There's a veterans section in the My Soldier menu that lets you add stuff. Some of the games need a serial key to get added, some like BF2 just need your BF2 account details. You'll get the related dog tags after a wee bit as well.

Search for "overclockers UK".

Search for overclockers.

Several people play on the TFU servers (my self included) as well.

The sound in this game is absolutely remarkable, but I do have a complaint with the deaths. Although it's probably quite realistic (well, actually nobody would know what it sounds like when we die, but I hope you know what I mean), it just doesn't feel "chunky" enough, if you get me, when you're shot and killed. I'm not expecting a ridiculous, Unreal Tournament-like splatter, but it doesn't really sound any different to when bullets are being fired past your head as when they actually hit it.

I'd prefer at least some kind of "sploof" that doesn't give me the impression I died because of lag or something, especially considering we don't know where we've been killed from most of the time in this game, as well as the lack of an actual kill-cam. It's just one moment I'm there, and the next I'm not. I don't see the bullets that killed me, so I'd at least like to hear them.
