You don't lose the points when you disconnect.
 
I dont know whether Im just getting older and forgetting to play FPSs :) But can someone point me in the direction of some kind of online resource re: BF3? Absolutely loving the game so far but it really is my first "proper" BF experience.

E.g. as a medic I can drop this "medic" pack (or whatever its called), how does one use it and what are the benefits of dishing this out compared to actual fragging?

Oh and another question: Is there some kind of chat area or something where I can see where fellow platoon members are playing? So far I havent really delved into this "Origin" malarky so any headsup would be appreciated.
 
Rubber banding, random server time-outs/disconnects out of nowhere are ruining the experience for me so far. I've been holding off playing a lot due to these bugs because I recall BC2 having the same but once people ease off the servers things settle down so I'm probably going to play on and off until things ease down and the rubber banding stops as do the timeouts.
 
Was just playing on the [ TFU ] RUSH | UK | NORMAL | OCUK | and got stuck on the defending team 3 times in a row.

Are admins just moving people around as they wish? Spoils the gameplay for everyone
 
At the moment, Rush just doesn't seem to flow well on BF3. It worked well in BC2 but not on these big maps (at least that's how it seems to me.)

In terms of the M16A3 / M16A4 are they different in terms of fire selection? i.e. M16A3 is single shot and full auto while the M16A4 is single, 3 burst, full auto? Or something like that perhaps?

Jets, have no prob flying one, I use a logic 3 gamepad, but up until now I have killed absolutely no one....I rake various flags/bases and don't even get an assist...lol. I have piled a few rounds into tanks but have normally overshot them before creating any real damage. Haven't even come across a heli anywhere, as I am still finding my way round the maps.

I have no game problems, like a lot of people seem to have but there is one thing I cannot get to work....in game video tab. Whenever I click on the video tab, nothing happens, the video properties do not open, it just sits there, until I alt+tab out, where I am presented with a battlefield 3 has stopped working box. I haven't even seen what my settings are as of yet. I did go into the config file, like I would do with CoD, but it looks so much more complicated to read through.
I have tried various searches on the web but I can't seem to find anyone else suffering from this.....Hell I know its not the end of the world, as its playing sweet but I want to be able to change video settings if I want to.
My rig for info is 2500k @ 4.4ghz, 8gb corsair xms3 @ 1600mhz, gigabyte z68 xp - ud3 and a single HIS ATI Radeon HD 6950 IceQ X Turbo 2048MB.
Running 64bit Win7, all fully up to date. Have tried using 11.10 drivers, 11.9 and 11.10 preview 3 but its still the same....think my next step could well be a fresh bf3 install, if I have a spare 2hrs to kill.....
I presume my rank/stats are saved, upon reinstalling but is this locally or server side?

Overall I love this game, at the moment I am a still a bit of a lone wolf, I know, its all about squads, but I don't really understand how a squad communicates with each other, other than by type chat....not ideal. As I get more into it, I shall look more into squads, as my lad tells me that's a good way to rack up the points.

PS. Note to EA/Dice.....ffs let us customize our classes outside of the game.

might need to when set settings to use the back tab, don't save it, let the game same settings for u then it works, set it and then klick back tab.-

I think the A3 is full auto but the A4 is three round burst, but they're identical every other way. Seems a bit daft to me.

Just played a round as the gunner for a guy who clearly spends all his time in the attack choppers. Level 12 and he already seems to have a most of the unlocks for it. Keeping really low seems to be the secret, if we popped up then as soon as were were locked on he dropped like a stone. Managed to get plenty of kills, a few assists and the IR flares and heatseekers unlocked and most of the stealth unlock in one round!

Was his name Sniper_B186 or something by any chance? Because I rolled with him while i was in the gunner spot too and yeah I was impressed. It is such a pain when you get lock spammed though :P
 
I unlocked the AN-94 but I dont think its as good as the M416, is there any point in using anything else!?

Bit depressed that im gonna have to continue using the M416
