Inspection II service for E46

335D M Sport

I was about to comment on the summary saying 2006, 5 owners and 12,600 miles then noticed the main text says:

This BMW E90 335d M sport touring is a superbly presented 2008 model 335d M in sparkling graphite grey boasts M sport aerodynamic bodystyling and suspension with high gloss exterior trim and panoramic glass sunroof with colour keyed black roof rails. The car has covered only 12600 miles since new with one owner.

Not much difference!

BMW E28 M5

Vehicle price: £7,495
Construction Year: 1986
Mileage: 110,000 Miles
Transmission type: Manual
Vehicle colour: Lachs Silver
Interior: Black Leather
Availability: This vehicle is now sold

Given some of the other prices listed, £7.5k for such a rare beast (184 built in RHD I believe, hand built at that!) seems a steal to me - shame its sold (unsurprisingly!)

As for BMW servicing, why not? my next service is an Insp II, I'm more than likely going to take it to my local dealer.

Afternoon Ryan.

Many thanks for your email. The cost of an inspection II service for your compact would be £368. This price is inclusive of VAT, and includes all labour, fluids and parts changed as standard with the service package. Would you need a courtesy car? They’re available at no extra cost, but we’d need a little more notice (usually about 5-7 days) to book you in!

Kind Regards,

Munich Legends

Surprising, I thought they would at least £50 cheaper. Big thumbs up for the local dealer in that case.

Well blow me down, what a complete non-shocker that response was :D

Are you going to reply asking why they are £50 more than the published UK-wide pricing structure at all BMW franchised dealers?

It doesn't surprise me too much tbh. For a professional service BMW are pretty well priced on older vehicles.

In fact, I think you will struggle to match the convenience of a good BMW dealer with even a good specialist. I've phoned my local dealer at 8:30 AM and my service has been complete before lunch time. An array of spanking new courtesy cars if you want to leave, a decent enough coffee machine and some nice caramel biscuits, B&O TV, fast WiFi and some cars to play around in if you want to stay. Once, when I had to wait in the dealership for about 6 hours, they bought me lunch!

To get all that, nearly 2 hours of labour, oil, filters, plugs and whatever else, a car wash, PLUS the ultimate comeback if anything isn't right, for £319 is really not too bad.

Oh please do - i'm genuinely interested to hear their answer. The only reason i can think of is the labour, but surely they can't charge more for labour than a BMW main dealer, can they?!

no-one quotes their lowest rates on an initial request - that's just good business. All stealers price match anyway you just have to persist when asking for the improved pricing structure. As the car is a BMW most companies don't bother discounting their prices in the strange belief anyone with a BMW is stupid, rich and born yesterday

It's bad business sense to quote an initial price that is some £50 more expensive than the well publicised menu pricing at every franchised BMW dealer, though.

90% of people will go 'lol' and discount them.

Yeah I can see your point but I can also see their thinking, their pricing structure isn't rigidly set to match BMW main dealers, maybe some they are more expensive on and some they are cheaper:

the m3 insp II from sytner was £1100, from ML it's £680 as a first pass.

There's a lot of tappety tapping going on with e46 m3 servicing hence the cost :p
