You sure on the no noise? Octy mkI vRS here and can year turbo whistle inside the cabin when wide open. I agree though It's much more noticeable with a remap. And annoyingly I think the turbo whistle sounds more... urgent on my friend's 150hp Leon cupra diesel thing.
 
Not really sure just my experiance of the VAG 20VT, my Audi was totally standard and made no noise, when my mates Leon was standard it made no noise but when modded it sounded like Darth Vader with manflu
 
*More hijackness*

Looked at the blue Cupra just now - got it wrong, it's on a Y plate. To say it was clean is an understatement. Full Seat service history (5-6K between services). I found a single stone chip on the bonnet, and the typical peeling on the door grab handles (although only minor). Pirellis all round with loads of tread, brakes all good, and turbo was almost silent. The car was basically the polar opposite of the black one I saw yesterday, so have put a deposit down and hopefully collect the car Wednesday.

How much was it if you dont mind me asking?

I have given up looking for one around here, trying to get up to Stockport to have a look at one.
 
It was up at £2250. The bugger wouldn't budge on price though.

There really are a lot of ropey ones out there. The only reason I looked at mine was the low miles, but it seems to have paid off.

I emailed the seller yesterday but havent heard back as yet.

It seems a good enough example from the advert but then so did the orange one and that was a wreck. I've looked at a couple of Golf 1.8T's too but still havent found one yet
 
I gave up on Golf 1.8Ts - you just don't get the same VFM as with a Leon. That Leon looks okay, but the scuffed wheelarch is a bit of a shame.
