I am dissapointed to be fair, it could still be fixed with the dlc of wake island. But i dont know the amount of customization can spoil a shooter, because there will always be a specific item or sequence of certain abilities that will over power everything else.

Battlefield 2 just had weapon unlocks which was good because it became fair for everyone.

Leveling up is still faster than battlefield 2.

Me and my friend played 2 rounds together just feeling a bit bored after that.

So i said to him you ever tried battlefield 2... he said no?

So i gave him link to the battlefield 2 gulf of oman demo, we joined a 64player map and guess what, we were on it for over 3 hours.

says it all to be honest.

He even said battlefield 2 is more fun, and this was the demo.
 
Apart from the name and the general idea of the game, it's completely different to BF2 and even more different than BC2 in my opinion ... but in it's own right, I like it quite a lot.

I think people need time to adjust to the gameplay as it's a fair bit more realistic. Playing like you did in BF2 or BC2 won't get you very far at all. For starters, you need a lot more patience and need to hold back the urge to run around guns blazing.

Shooting from cover is also vital, most of my deaths are when I'm out in the open. This might sound like camping, but it's simply a product of more realistic game mechanics. It only becomes a problem when stay in the same cover position waiting for kills, rather than moving on when your way is clear.

Also I think more people need to use the firemode selector, I've noticed quite frequently that I'm against someone at medium-long range and they are using full auto and wasting most of their shots, where as I am using single shot and getting like 80% accuracy and as expected, killing them first.

I think overall the game is pretty solid, with a few fixable issues. It's a different game and I'm not sure if it's better than BF2 or not (definitely better than BC2), but I think that's something that time will tell more than anything. I do think though that the game has the potential to be better and most of the problems are to do with the player base than the game itself, especially the whole camping and spamming nonsense. I just hope DICE do not cave in to these idiots and change the game to stop this and in the process destroy this 'potential' I'm talking about.

I think i prefer things as only 32 players, i think most maps could go upto 48 but 64 is just too many for most of the maps on rotation, so the bad ones become way overcrowded

I've tried a couple of 64 player server and I can't deal with them tbh, tactical play goes out the window.

You can also just use the SOFLAM as a remote camera, put it near an alley way to see if the enemy is coming.

So I have a strange problem. Sometimes I get no sound in the game. It never happens on first load of the game only after i have played the game, shut it down then reopened it some time later on. If i restart my pc it fixes it.

My drivers are up to date
tried restarting the game
tried restarting origin
tried changing sound options in bf3 and restarting
checked the sound mixer to make sure it wasnt muted / low volume

Any ideas? :p
 
this reminds me of bf2 when it came out. People moaning about not being a better the 1942 and technical issues everywere. BF2 became a classic still played by thousands. Give bf3 time at it will shine too. But i don't know how they going to fix the jets, they do seem poo atm.

Thanks, now sorted.

I think an update must've been released. I tried updating and it said it was up to date so I tried repair and that seems to have fixed things.

Game is amazing! :)
 
Out of interest, how many people here have a netgear DG834Gv5 router and gets the connecting.... problem?

Changing routers fixed that annoying problem for me! Got a DGN2200 on the way now, i hope that doesn't have the same issue.
 
This game isn't ready at all for launch.

So far my list of bugs I have enjoyed for £37.99 have been the following...

BF3.exe has stopped working errors (As I make this post, I had 6 in the last hour)
Blue screens
Game has a spastic attack going full screen from desktop and back and forth
"Freezes" other monitors when full screen if you playing on one, only way to fix is to drop to desktop and back to game till the other monitors become "active" again
Key bindings menu, how gay is that? You edit a key and it flicks right to it but doesn't scroll down (hard to explain)
ESC key doesn't work to "clear keys"
Running the game with Eyefinity causes blue screens
Icons not centered for Eyefinity use
GOD DAMN MOUSE and keyboard becoming spastic and not being responsive at all at random times (Heard Dice left some console code in it, so it's not a console port right? Right)
Why does clicking the browser (in my case Firefox) make the game go full screen if am on desktop

Haven't gone online yet to enjoy the problems that will give me.

Other then that, the missions have been fun but short, currently doing the Tank missions.

To be fair our team didn't seem to understand the difference between attack and defend in a lot of those matches today (presuming that was you on the Multiplay :: nM-OCUK server earlier), but i would definitely agree i've had more fun in bf2 over the years than i can see myself having in bf3.

Still time for that to change though depending on what content and patches they release for the game.
