Anyone else here miss being able to drop bombs from jets like bf2?

Rather than a heatseaking missile to ground vehicles that hardly hits anything.

That and flares re-charge wayyy too damn quick to hit anything with missiles.

But dispite flares recharging too quick, its way too easy for land AA to take out air vehicles because the maps are bunched too close together, your constantly being hit by something.

Where as on battlefield 2 the flags spread out, there was room between flags for a air battle and not have to worry about being hit from the ground etc.

I got an email from EA saying about Gunclub.ea.com, what does it actually do? It has some badges that I "earned" from being in the Alpha/Beta. Is there anything else? EA has so many un-integrated systems its a mess.

Even on that site I get told I have the Alpha badge on one page yet another says I don't. :|

Lowered the clock on my card, seems more stable now, I can actually play a map from start to finish \o/

Problem is, I`m getting tired of it after like 30min which never happened in a BF game before, I can usually go on for hours. I wonder if this game will end up like MOH forgotten and abandoned by the players quickly after release.

Also, does anyone honestly see this game outsell MW3 (which I`m not gonna bother with after black ops btw

Overall experience is pretty `meh` so far for me :(

Loving this game, just awesome. Been playing on the server loads but sorry OcUK, 64 player maps are just not my cup of tea. Just too mad and fragmented. 32 player conquest and 16 player team DM for me.

Some awesome players about. Jam0r and the 'EL_' guys!

Bombs are nice, but they're also one of the reasons the jets absolutely dominated BF2. I don't miss getting constantly blown to bits as infantry.

The one thing that really bugs me about jets is that on some of the levels the ceilings for aircraft are waaaaaay to low. I was on Karg Island earlier and it felt like there was just no point in climbing at all.

Ultimate CQB noob setup

UMP45 NV(thermal day vision wtf it is?? Predator vision 24/7) Torch Silencer. You can see everything they cant see crap on radar or with their burnt out retinas

Running a xonar DX here and no issues. Are you by any chance running msi afterburner. There was an issue with ab and pb in bfbc2, renaming the RTCORE.cfg file in afterburner cured this for me.

ran it like that for an hour, no crashes so far.

will hammer it tomorrow and see if i have sorted it for good.

much appreciated setter :)

Personally, i think the karkland map they should have kept a dusty foggy desert map, like remember conflict desert storm, what a game. battlefield 2 karkland fantastic. on counter strike, dusty maps was the favoruite, battlefield 3 doesnt really have the feel of a iraq war kind of map on multiplayer in my oppinion, it has things like operation firestorm but its just a half desert mountain area with a few oil rigs and scaffolding in the middle? and 2 air strips, bit stupid map designs really to be honest.

only thing that makes this game good to be honest, is the fact that infantry combat is spot on, and the wepons and perks and upgrades etc are all well thought out. and the little things like going prone, knife kills, being able to jump over walls all make the combat feel real, metro absolutely rocks, best map on the game.

big maps, .. though there pretty bloody big, they just are way too bunched together and dont quite cut it.

remember a 64 man server on battlefield 2? even though flags are spread out, there always was a battle at each one because teams/squads sent orders of which squad to go where to battle and take the flag, but cause there bunched together its just a bunch of morons running around with no one to back each other up, its like there trying to do a death match in the middle of a huge 64 player map wilst jets etc fly around in the sky.

but dont get me wrong, the jet dog fighting is amazing, but hopefully you get my point :)

but still its the best game to be released since battlefield 2.

So they're going to squish all the flags together. Updating for modern look doesn't make sense, they are already up to date in bf2.

I don't think anything has been mentioned about 'squishing' it. Wake was a bit marmite, anyhow. Couldn't stand it myself as it was there to appease the wannabe flyboys and cowardly snipers.

Dragon Valley was cack as well. Long, long roads with nothing happening. Then a sniper would kill you and that's it. Some ******* would drive a jeep, alone, dump it somewhere remote and set up camp, leaving you to tramp around on foot.

Karkand, however, was a man's map. The battle for the hotel was legendary. Oh and Gulf of Oman. That could put hairs on your chest. As was Sharqi Peninsula, some of those capture points were very close and it got very intense.

Also i just unloaded an entire round of my LMG in to some guy standing about 10 feet away, only for him to just stand there and fire a rocket straight at me, then i saw on the killcam that he had 77% left!!

I've got this all the time and it's starting to annoy me now. Surely an LMG should kill someone fairly soon. I guess it's lag causing it and not so much the hit reg but the result is still frustrating. Just did a few reasonably nice games on the OCUK server, though 64 player Conquest is not my cuppa tea, I think, it's just too chaotic and disorganised, even though it is much better than random servers. Rush on hardcore all the way for me now I guess.

Anyone else having trouble connecting to servers?

I keep getting Could not get a connection to the server. I've been trying to play for an hour & haven't gotten anywhere

Agree 100%

I really like Mashtuur City as well, but a lot of people didn't.

There is also quite a few hacks out already. I was on a server last night & during a few games I saw 4 players get kicked for what the consle described as hacks.
