Just unlocked ATI 6950 card, safe clock speeds to set ?

Sapphire HD6950 AMD/ATI Graphics Card - 2GB11188-05-20G - 2GB Sapphire HD 6950, Dirt3 Edition, PCI-E 2.1 (x16), 5000MHz GDDR5, GPU 800MHz, 1408 Cores, HDMI/DP/DVI

ya its the dual fan one so comes with top quality cooler

I got for £200 inc del , but there don't seem to be anything to get dirt3 though

Thanks for that. I didn't think any of the newer 6950's had the switch on them...
 
Might be worth a punt on the dual fan Sapphire cards then... they can be had pretty cheap, closer the £200 mark. There's no guarantee with the Toxic cards either..

Like I've said before, it's a lottery.

You might have 1 of a batch of a 1,000 cards where only yours unlocks.

You might have 1 of a batch of a 1,000 cards where they all unlock.

You've either hit on the odd card which unlocks or managed to hit on a batch of cards which unlock.

As there's no way of knowing which it is your experience doesn't really assist anyone else.

Ive just got a MSI 6950 Twin Frozr III Power edition , didnt do too much research into what was the best make this is just what the local PC shop had in. Would like to unlock it to 6970 if its easy enough, dont want to break it tho :eek:

Doubt it tbh.

AFAIK you used to have to flash the bios yourself but if Sapphire are putting both bios's on the cards and allowing you to swap between them by flicking a switch the chances are that it will work.

Certainly, I've not heard any reports of the Toxic cards not unlocking the shaders. Maybe other people have though?

There's one in this thread which didn't unlock and I'm sure I've seen a couple more mentioned in other threads.
