Samsung F4s on WHS1? I had the same problem, just didn't like my setup and playback always stuttered with BDs.
Went with an Areca 1880 + HP SAS expander in RAID 5 or 6 and no problems since. Glad I bought about 20 F4s at about £50 each earlier in the year
The Samsung F4's dont play ball on WHS V1 They use AFT

Yep, when I started with them there was little information how they performed with WHS1. The only other alternative at the time was the WDs, so took a risk on the Samsung's. Monitoring the throughput they were not substantially different performance wise to non-4k drives, and no evident reason that they shouldn't have been able to stream a BD.
Not using WHS1 now having bit the bullet on a RAID setup.

F3's work fine and is enough storage on my single device for me!

Indeed, i only have a little bit but comes up to 17Gb! Video takes up space man!

I think this is one of those situations where brick&mortar retailers may actually become viable, bound to be a few high street shops that normally aren't competitive due to relatively static pricing but it works both ways. Often they will just want to clear out old stock so some of these examples represent decent value now e.g. the 3TB USB powered drive for £119.99 with £20 voucher back and free 4GB flash drive thrown in. If I hadn't of got a new drive last week I'd be getting one.

When stock is gone though its gone... There was a 500GB Seagate external yesterday online for sale for £19.95
The site crashed and they couldn't fulfill orders.

A well known competitor currently has a 2Tb 5900rpm external for £295, yes an old Seagate drive going eol for £295, god bless rip off Britain, anyway one less competitor for Ocuk to worry about as I am so disgusted at that blatent price gouging that I will never buy from them again.
...because they want to make a quick buck and some people are silly enough to get involved in panic buying.
There is nothing wrong with retailers charging whatever they want...customers are under no obligation to buy the item (at the inflated price).
