********* The Official GTA V (5) thread! *********

I love how anyone having a different opinion is considered a troll/idiot.

They are idiotic comments when you don't know what you're talking about.

EDIT: It's definitely going to be set in Los Santos at least. San Andreas was a state if you guys remember, it had Las Vegas, San Franciso and Los Angeles, this might only have a massive version of L.A instead of the other areas. If they manage to pull off something the size of San Andreas in the RAGE engine with that amount of detail in the other cities too then this game is going to be worth it purely for the sandbox stuff.

EDIT 2: Just noticed Mount Chiliad in the trailer. :D

Is the homeless guy in the trailer Nico Billic?

Hah! Looks a bit too chubby for Niko though. :(

I hope they create a fun world to be in, as impressive as GTA4 looked it felt a bit heartless.

I think it will have a lot more stuff to do between missions. GTA4 was their first attempt on the current gen consoles, I know there were expansion packs to GTA4 which weren't particularly amazing but they did offer some new mini games and stuff. I think the main problem with GTA4 is that New York City doesn't have much diversity in the way of landscapes, it's pretty much all urban and that's it.

If they nail this and they put the countryside areas, along with Las Venturas and San Fierro then it could be amazing. If you compare GTA3 and San Andreas, GTA3 was Rockstars first attempt at a GTA game on the PS2, compared with San Andreas it had virtually nothing to do outside of the main missions. There was the car collection missions, the "hidden" telephone missions and a few mini games that you could do when in specific vehicles.

Then there was San Andreas where you could enter triathlons, hit the weights, go out for food, take people on dates, properly customize your outfit and haircut, customize cars, upgrade your combat and physical skills, play poker at the casinos, take flying lessons, driving lessons, boating lessons... loads compared to 3. :D

For some reason I think it's Tommi Vercetti, and you might play as him and then some other long lost kid he has.

I don't think you'll play as multiple characters in the one game. RDR was a bit different as the main character died, I don't think they'd kill off Tommy if it is indeed him. One thing's for sure though, they better bring back Ray Liotta and the trailer didn't sound like it was Ray Liotta.

The trailer for V doesn't particularly grab me. They need to show more than that.

I love GTAIV but I think it's mainly because of the driving aspect of the game and because I have an obsession with driving the police cars. I love the way traffic will move for you (apart from when they stop in front of you and don't move out the way).

The previous GTA I played was GTA2 on the PS1 and apart from the obvious differences the main thing I noticed was that in the new one you don't get a sense of a gangs turf. In the old one if you did too many missions for a particular gang and stepped into another gangs territory you would get shot at the moment you stepped into their boundary and then your allied gang would start shooting back at them.

What happened to stealing a police officers car from outside the station and then being chased by a RC car rigged with a bomb?

The missions felt more exciting, I recall one particular one which I don't think I could ever complete where you had to steal a tank but there would be army all over you. I don't think there is a single mission in IV which feels like I'm being naughty.

Displacing an armoured vehicle from a helicopter by shooting the bolts and then driving off with it and being chased by the police (who are so easy to outrun) is naughty but I just don't feel it.

Perhaps it's because I'm older and I'm more de-sensitised?

It's not a trailer per se, it's more a Teaser, they did a teaser a while back with IV just to show the engine, city, graphics.

The protagonist is Hispanic and his name is Adrian

It takes place in San Andreas in the year 2012. The Mayan end of the world thing is parodied a lot because of this.

You start out in Los Santos and are in your rivals turf. Varrios Los Aztecas after getting beat up and robbed
The game revolves around money in a big deal. I’d reveal the big idea but I don’t want to ruin it.

Multiplayer is in again. There are a couple of new game modes, co-op story and 32 player game modes for consoles and 64 player for PC, PC also includes dedicated servers

Pc comes out on launch and is being ported by Leeds. From what they’ve shown us it is optimized much better than GTA 4

San Andreas includes all the same cities from GTA SA and this time they have all become a bit bigger as well as much more detailed.

Gang turk wars are back. This time not only the general gang are in charge but different sets such as 57th Ballas or the Eastside Azteca. The have their own graffiti. You can tag up stuff with custom sprays too.

In the end your protag dies once again just like in RDR. Afterwards you play as his brother who inherits the money.

“The Money” I refer to comes from a massive drug trade that ***** to San Andreas. It is fought over a lot throughout the story and it comes with lots of money. It has ties to your family so it becomes a bigger deal.

The timeline continues off of GTA 4. It is reference a lot. I’m not really sure whether Niko dies but he’s mentioned at least twice.

Car modding is back so is lowriding of course.

There are 9 radio stations. It features a range of music. Some of the rap is new, some is old. There’s a better selection than GTA4
though IMO.

Military has returned in the 5 star wanted level except they are referred to as the National Guard.

Cover system is upgraded and players more smoothly

The moral decisions you saw in GTA 4 have more effect on the story now. There are a total of 4 unique endings 2 bad, 2 good.
Whether protag dies in all of them you’ll just have to figure out since the endings are actually pretty cool.

More girlfriends

Parachutes

So they have licensed cars?

Thought they just modelled cars similar to the real thing Range Rover/Diablo/Chrysler etc,

Just Audi latching on to a bit of free publicity.

I could have just made it up myself unless the source is credible? There's absolutely NO WAY someone would leak the end of the story before any other details have even officially been announced. :p
