********* The Official GTA V (5) thread! *********

ever since gta 3, i think they never really made great leaps and bounds, i got bored of every gta released after it within a month whereas gta 3 i played non stop for a long long time.

saint's row is much more fun, but then they took out all the decent multiplayer games they had like "protect the pimp", simply one of the best ideas ever to be brought into online gaming.

it was hilarious running up to people then slapping them across the screen with 1 huge slap.

the new saints row is out soon, so the next gta better be better than the next saints row at least.

red dead redemption is another game which i feel was better than the last GTA.

GTA better get their act together they are living off their name, i hope this is just as epic as GTA3, and makes huge leaps and bounds within this genre.

they keep on going back in time in GTA or using present day, i wonder if they will ever make a futuristic version a bit like the fifth element movie, with flying cars and stuff.

GTA 3 is flippin gash compared to san andreas, are you smoking crack?

your talking about different times.

if in the year 2012 they released san andreas, it would also be gash.

for the time gta3 was amazing.

its a bit like saying goldeneye is gash because it has not aged well.

i feel as though ever since gta3 they have not done enough to stay on top of their game, saints row and red dead redemption offered so much more in terms of fun.

GTA3 barely had a story. Your character didn't even have a name or talk. San Andreas is leagues above GTA3 even considering the time difference.

Possibly, but he finds the diamonds in GTA4 so why would he be begging on the streets again?

He could have blown it in the casinos... or lost it to the Korean triads? Thus the need to arrange that bank robbery, because you're in trouble as well?

Presumably Koreans now, since the sign on the highway says Downtown Little Seoul. ;)

GTA3 was amazing and pretty much the foundation of vice city and San Andreas.

this

GTA3 made leaps and bounds, pretty much the same way the original driver game did.

Now take a look at the driver series, they made one of the best games ever made, then ruined every single game after that. driver 2 was okay but driver (the original) had better graphics.

ever since GTA3 they haven't done much, they added little bits and pieces but nothing to push the boundaries.

GTA San Andreas was basically GTA3 in a different city with a few upgrades.

GTA4 was basically the same thing, GTA3 on a superior console with a few upgrades.

I would like GTA5 to push the boundaries, it's what you expect from such a good production house.

as i said before games like saints row and red dead redemption i have found of late much more fun to play. because they bring something new and fresh to the table.

i hope GTA5 isnt the same old missions just with different characters, places and cars.

i want something completely new and to "wow" me, otherwise i might as well just be playing one of the older games.

how about they set it in prohibition times like "mafia" or in the future like the year 3040. imagine the sort of havoc you could wreak in the year 3040, imagine the types of prostitutes you could get, as well as guns, drugs, flying roller blades, whatever you want.

this game is supposed to be about one thing and one thing only "fun".

nobody wants realism, or any other crap, they want a fun open play game, which saints row and red dead redemption are far better at providing imo.

as i say those 2 games have set the bar high, i just hope gta5 doesnt fall short of the bar.

lol Psycho Sonny.

While I appreciate Saints Row were and are a good series of games, they've always felt like GTA's retarded little brother trying too hard to be funny.

I have absolute confidence in Rockstar with GTA V, It will be brilliant.

GTA games have progressively gotten better and better, you can argue the toss about SA being the best, it was certain the peak of the III "era" but I think IV was a better game.

Don't understand the point about them doing something different, **** off and don't bitch and moan and play another game if you want something different?

GTA is Rockstar's bread and butter pudding, the more they make, the better they get at making it.

Actually the realism argument fails before it can get any momentum either.

GTA games have a style, the new engine that people said was "more realistic" and used this as a criticism can suck a lemon, the style was similar but they used a much better engine to make the game.

Despite all this, it's never been about the "look" of a GTA game, it's always been the sense of humour, which every game III/VC/SA/IV/TLATD/TBOGT have all had by the bucket load.

Yes, and the way the comedy is delivered never feels crass, the parodies are always done really well and the scripts for the adverts and such are better than what most stand up comedians come up with.

Agreed about Saints Row being the retarded little try hard as well.
