Morning
I want to run the following drive configuration on my motherboard which has an x58 chipset (ICH10, 6 SATA ports):
1x SSD
2x Platter drives in RAID1 for backups
1x Platter drive
Obviously this means I'll have the put the ICH10 in RAID mode for the mirrored array but the others will continue to operate normally.
My question is: Even though the SSD is not part of a RAID array, will it still be able to make use of TRIM? I've read conflicting reports both ways.
My board also has a Marvell SATA controller, but it is garbage so I'd rather not use it if possible.
Thanks!
