Guild Wars 2

I wish you didn't have to play eye in the north to carry forward achievements. I stopped playing during nightfall, and now it seems my 800 hours won't be recognised :(

Yup, you dont need to play any of EOTN to get your GW2 bonuses - Run through a collapsing dungeon, skip a few cutscenes, hello Hall of Monuments, Gimmeh GW2 prizes!

I refuse to call GW1 an MMO

Thats GW1, not GW2.

- Take GW1
- Put it into a fully persistent world
- Improve everything
- Tah dah! Awesome sauce MMO.

I dont call WoW an RPG. It has no ingame story or main quest line, theres no connection or any sequence of events within the game to create any kind of a story, all you do is random kill and collect quests. Your character has no significance in the game world.

SWTOR does not have a larger following than GW2.

Be very surprised if GW2 has even a 1/4 of the followers that swtor has, and I am a huge GW fan played most of the original including most of the expansions.

There has never being a MMO with the following that swtor has.

GW makers are not stupid they know this unlike all fanbois of all games, they will hold back and give swtor at lest I would guess a 3 month start better if they went 6 or 9.

See the link I posted in post 19.

Also you cant compare the sizes of the SWTOR and GW2 fan forums - the latter are privately owned and delete / archive inactive threads older than a month or so, and generally allow very few new topics to be posted to save their server bandwidths.

I also strongly hate the mechanic of the highest stat gear being obtainable only through raids or epic rare drop chances. Players should be able to access the same level of gear by playing the game how they enjoy, be it raiding, dungeons, crafting, or PVP. Arenanet are the only MMO developers that recognize this, and that for player balance and fairness purposes, the best gear should not be reserved only for players that grind raids. In GW1 / GW2 everyone is able to obtain the highest stat loot regardless of playstyle, and this is the kind of game that I want to play where you dont have to spend months on end of 'LFG, LFG, LFG' just to find a single item that you need (which in other MMOs will most likely get looted by someone else).

Just pre-ordered two copies of Guild wars 2, it's being released in 03-01-2012.

Cool where did you pre-order and is there any incentive for pre-ordering, or they not said anything about that yet, as I will definitely pre-order and as far as I kn ow The Immortals will play this game as well.

@wab, I pre ordered it from GAME. There are other retailers who also sell this. I choose GAME, because I had £42 reward points, so I used em.

played swtor and gw2 at eurogamer expo gw2 was miles ahead but both were amazing and its my opinion.

gw2 def coming out next year id say.

Read their twitter. They are on the final parts of game, which means almost completed and wont be long.

Feel free to post a link, as far as I know, the only official news on GW2 is on the GW2 website, and from developer posts on the forums.

That doesnt mean its going to be released by the end of the year, or whatever your pre order date states.

There is still one last class left to be announced, that will happen quite some time prior to the games release.
