Battlefield 3 thread - Server details in opening post -

I was on broken last night, had some good games but some of the moaning and language last night was pretty bad, even for the internet, saw someone get called a "******* Disabled ****" (put in the worst words that could make that sentence
)
Yeah that's pretty bad. It seems quite a few people have that kind of side to them, it's not a nice thing to call anybody.
I had a few people on mine last night, swearing and accusing others of hacking etc. I think one actually said he was going to ban somebody for being a "camping retard"! (not as bad as yours!)
It offended a few people who said it wasn't a way to run a server, so i chirped in and said "he aint an admin nor is it his server, i own this, infact he's getting banned" and swiftly banned him and warned the others.
Let's just say it shut them up and kept the server happy.

Just been trying to get used to it on the 'practice' servers. Not a chance.
When using the xbox controller, I put all the yaw left/right, pitch etc, controlls on the same pad. Same with mouse too, for me I seem to handle with them all on the same one, instead of using one pad for left/right and the other for pitch controls

I've just switched from playing support to playing assault, and keep running up to tanks thinking I'm going to place C4 only to realise I've pulled out my defibs

I have done that plenty of times!
I once did a much better one though, i went to go c4 the tank and put a mortar down right next to it before promptly being shot.
Unfortunately I can't really play games as much as I did in the past. But gosh, this game has hooked me.
I'm amazed at it in a couple ways. Mostly the sound, to be honest. The sound is the single most affective thing in this game. I love how sharp the cracking of sniper rifles sound. The way you hear as if bullets are whizzing around you. It's remarkable just how immersive it makes the game.
The graphics almost go without saying. But what's very impressive is how responsive the game is to dialing down the settings. On ultra everything with aa and anistropic filtering on full i'm getting 35-40 fps at 1920x1200.
Turn off aa and shadows down to high, with use ssao and it's 50-60.
The physics and bullet trajectory models are excellent. It's the first game where I've felt like bullets were behaving like the laws of physics applied to them in any meaningful way.
There's a few things I don't like, but considering the sheer scale of this game, and the fact Dice took time to deliver us with a gold plated PC release, those little things just aren't worth talking about.

Antivirus?
I have Avast installed and it plays hell with BF3 and battelog. I have to disable it every time I want to play.
I have Avira, it came up originally with bf3.exe being a virus, I made it an exception and have tried disabling AV and makes no difference. Updated drivers, restarted origin and PC, tried repairing install, still no luck. Guess it will be a reinstall then..

When you click on BF3 on origin, does it load up battlelog?
