CityLink are a Joke

No, he should do what he's supposed to do and ****ing deliver the ****ing parcels even if he has to go home half an hour late because of it, not blatently lie. Some people have taken unpaid/holiday days off work because they stuggle to have parcels delivered to them because they're not in when the post/couriers come and then they do this it's a joke.
Yeah because its all about you. Gotchya.
He should get fired for not doing his job.
He should get fired for the warehouse staff allocating him too many parcels?

Getting them delivered to work is the only sensible choice.

You'd think that you were a CityLink delivery driver the amount that you'e defending them.

Why do big companies still using pathetic unreliable couriers?

City Link are THE worst couriers ive ever used, ive had to use them a few times and 4/5 times it comes the day after it is meant to and the box looks like it has been through a hurricane

The OP didn't start critising the drivers, merely pointing out the company was ****.... I've had some horrendous customer service from a number of couriers including the one mentioned, taking days off to await delivery for no one to show up with only for the old "a car has been left" ******** and when I challenged this I was accused of lying about being in!

If it is the case the drivers have too many packages to deliver in a day well it is the company's fault and for this to go uncorrected means the don't give a **** about the recipients or the clients who hire them.

A simple business decisions is being made.... it's cheaper to suffer the reputational damage than provide a better service. If that's the case then they, and any other courier who does it, deserve all ithe flack they get....

Talking about courier companies in general, lets look at it another way, a courier company is paid to deliver a package, if they take payment knowing they can't do this with the available drivers/vans then to my mind that is a fraud.

Please fully star out swear words - Please read the FAQs regarding rules. Thank you.

Citylink are pretty good here. Always come at pretty much the same time for me as well.

I've never really had any problems with couriers here. I've had stuff come by most of them, even hdnl and never a problem.

You'd think that you were a CityLink delivery driver the amount that you'e defending them.
I just don't like the attitude some people have, its not just YOUR parcel on the van, YOU arent the only person who may have taken a day off work.

I wish i was a CityLink driver id tell half of you ******** where to insert the parcel after ive drop kicked it at your face.

I get parcels from CityLink every now and again and its always the same driver, he never messes me about and is always on time, never makes excuses, etc..

Been in all day. Didn't even attempt a Delivery. No Card, No Call, No Nothing.

Well that's the usual for that excuse for a courier service as they gave me that nobody was in for delivery bull once before and then got run around the houses with garbage like the package wasn't put on the van leading to them saying they'd lost it only to find a package being returned to sender note on the items tracking (only to have it delivered hours later).

Needless to say I never used the company I was using to get my computer parts from again (if you'd looked on their website it was littered with complaints about crappylink).

My experience of ****** stink as a company has been dire. In recent times, they carded me and didn't have the parcel on the van to deliver in the first place. When I went to the depot to complain and collect, I wasn't the only one in the same situation. It took 3 hours of waiting to get my parcel and the unfortunate people who came in after me waited for no reason as after they had waited a mere two hours were told to come back in the morning.

Previous to this, Citylink in Cardiff hired a load of ***** thieves. I was working retail in a shop when a Citylink manager turned up asking for the parcel that I had signed for back. What parcel? This one here with your signature on it. The one with a similar signature that was signed during a week I had off due to an operation? Fuuuuuuuuuuu.

How about the time, when I was again working retail and they delivered a load of computer cases, mostly drenched in Diesel. The driver got a bit arsey when I refused to let them into the shop for some reason.

How about the time when I was working on the Wales NHS IT refresh project, where they were tasked with delivering kit to site. I would say over half the sites I visited had other sites kit or kit had gone missing.

So you can see, my experience of them is somewhat painful. They have never managed to deliver a parcel to me properly. They have always carded me, even when delivering to a company address., so in my eyes, I think it entirely justifiable to call them a joke,

True, but if I am contracting a company to deliver a parcel and they fail to do it, then thats not just poor customer service, its breach of contract.

Why are you such a douche? You wouldn't do that to anyone, you would spend most of your time picking up broken teeth or broken keys.

We are all glad you've had positive experiences with them, but on the whole you will find we all have had problems with them in one way or another.

These threads are absolutely ridiculous. You can (and will) find horror stories about all delivery companies, simply put, it comes down to the individual driver you have, not the company as a whole.

Threads like these seem to pop up far more often about the likes of Citylink than say UPS for example.

So if they have too many parcels on the van to possibly deliver in one day what do they do, bend time and space just to get them all delivered?

They learn to navigate traffic better or speak to their line manager and get the number of drops reduced.

I started my driving career delivering upto 90 drops per day in & around the Stafford area (including outlying villages) - I speak from experience!

Driver is too much of a sheep to say the word "No!"

If I have too much work planned behind me, thats what I do, I simply tell them it can't be done, with my valid reason as to why, if they then insist that I try, and subsequently fail, at least I told them so.

Sounds like poor management to me.

UPS are a fantastic courier, I've sent about 50 parcels with them and they always treat them well (unlike DH-hell). Very helpful when I messed up the labels too.

Probably because UPS don't deliver to as many people on here.

That's unlikely considering their size. Had it not been for OcUK previously using them I don't think I'd have ever received a delivery from Citylink.

It's no coincidence they get brought up often along with Yodel, just like any industry you get your good and your bad eggs.

Always makes me laugh people moaning about this sort of things its stupid.

I am a postie and I can assure you I knock at every single house and I wait, I start writing out my card, I knock half way through doing it, finish it off and then wait a few seconds before putting it through the door.
The amount of people that then catch the bloke I am working with later "you didn't knock I was in all morning".
Yeah clearly I enjoy standing at the door writing out a card for you when I could have knocked and gave it to you in half the time.....

Maybe you were upstairs taking a **** or something at the time or didn't hear the door? Every week we have work meetings and people complain they got a card and yet strangely they were home?

It seems its easy enough to blame someone when you have no proof he didn't knock and you just didn't hear it as you were busy doing something else? So stop ya moaning before you know for sure....
