I might the music was about all I can stand about FF(Not including the awesomeness that was FFVII)

It was all downhill after 9. The soundtracks from X onwards were done by other composers as well as Uematsu.
In fact I don't think he's even done any composition for the last 2 or 3 games.
Still booked tickets though, as the man is a legend. 30 quid for the inner circle. Not bad
He did the music for Lost Odyssey.
Uematsu wrote a good 50% of all the music for FFX, basically all the good ones, To Zanakand, Otherworld, Suteki Da Ne, the Ending Theme,
Also I really don't believe anyone can say Hamauzu is a bad composer either, maybe not as good as Uematsu but he's still created some incredible stuff.

I have a spare ticket for this tomorrow - my brother has had to pass and I haven't been able to find anyone else to go with me

I've seen Madama Butterfly at the Royal Albert Hall from the 2nd row, performed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and some of the tracks from FFVIII are every bit as stirring and involving. Nobuo Uematsu is a ridiculously good composer.

Well, I and many others certainly feel this to be the case. Considering that the Royal Philharmonic will also be performing this event, It would appear that they at least consider it worthy of their time.

i've never really understood the point of view that magnolia has given. music is music, regardless of the purpose it was written for. it's not like they will be playing .midi files in the albert hall. i've got my tickets and i'm quite excited.
Was an absolutely brilliant concert. Hearing the music performed live by an orchestra just takes the music to another level. Was a great night

It's great to see orchestras trying to reach the masses with alternative genres of music. There has been film music ones too recently which proved to be quite popular. Orchestras have been facing big cuts recently and many have gone bust. Please keep supporting them by going to these events if they interest you.
I was there, it was a good night. Didn't have VIP tickets unfortunately as I waited too long but I certainly will do next time.
They opened with that and closed with One Winged Angel
We won't mention the organist.
And some of the arrangements were a little too...speedy. Memoro de la Stono, for example, part of what makes it such an epic tune is the slow, steady build up to Distant Worlds.
And they missed out a verse on Eyes on Me. Otherwise it was brilliant.
