Trying to build something that will last me at least the next couple years on a budget of around £600. I havn't been keeping up to date with the tech lately so I might be making some pretty glaring mistakes. (Im really not sure about PSUs)

Mainly used for gaming of course, but I might be doing a little low-level video editing with it. The HDD is just extra since I already have storage.

Anyway, feel free to criticise, compliment or comment on my build.

Have you thought about over clocking yourself, as you could save some money by doing so.

I would change the PSU to a OCZ or Corsair.

If its for gaming then get a much better GFX card.

I would overclock myself but i'm not entirely sure of what im doing(only done it a little bit in the past) and so i dont mind paying a little extra to save myself the risk.

What gfx card would you recommend? Without blowing the budget right out.

I would definately recommend that you try overclocking yourself, it's definately worth it as you save money.

I would go with stulid's build for sure. If you don't mind spending a bit more for the UD3 version of the motherboard, you'd also get 8x/8x Xfire capability for later on. Whether it's worth the extra moolah, compared to the 4x/4x, is up to you.

if you can get away without the hdd then you could save money and use it to get better graphics card/psu, another option is if you can stretch the budget the wrong side of £600(by ~£20) on what stulid has speced could get the 128gb crucial m4 ssd.

You guys sure about the 6850/70 recommendation?

According to the bit-tech reviews they arent hitting as high as the 550i(which is also cheaper). Or am i just reading it wrong :s

Ok I've just checked and it looks like I already have a EarthWatts 500w PSU that came with my case.

Looking at your current PSU recommendations it should be golden for the builds you've all designed?

The earthwatts one is an antec power supply. Should be up to the job I rekon, but I would ditch the hard drive considering the price
