NEW! Get 20% Cash Back on MSI Z68 Motherboards!

Or the discount is for your vat back which is 20% of the excluding vat price. Which is hardly misleading as vat is plastered over the promotion. And the government says its 20% so stop trying to troll technicalities and say cracking deal like everyone else.

Cracking deal!

OR he's right and people assumed that adding 20% to original price and minusing 20% from the total price is the same thing

And normally I would agree, but, it has "get your vat back" in massive writing. And vat is 20% so its hardly misleading.

But then it also says "MSI 20% Cash Back promotion on MSI Z68A Gen 3 Motherboards".

That is slightly misleading as you don't get 20% cash back.

You get the 20% VAT back which is 16.67% of the purchase price.

No one is trolling as you put it.

The wording in the different parts of the promotion mean different things.

If you bought something for £150 with "20% Cash Back" you'd expect to receive £30 not £25.

"Get your VAT back" and "20% Cash Back" mean different things.

if you read the terms and conditions it tells you 20 percent off the price you pay but doesnt include postage

This gives me a reason to move on to Sandy Bridge and save some money in the process.

Is it just 20% cashback for the board? Or for the whole purchase including other components? I'm guessing it's the former.

@ScottiB

Can you tell me the eta on the new bios for the Z68A-GD55-G3 that has the lucid virtu licence in it?

I contacted MSI:

'Question
Lucidlogix only available in 'Trial Mode'
Why is the Lucidlogix only available in 'Trial Mode'?

I purchased this motherboard with the intentions of using Intel quick sync which I cannot use.
Can you tell me why this software is unavailable as I do not have any use for it without this advertised function.

Dear sir/madam

Thanks for contacting MSI technical support.

Regarding your concern,MSI already got the license for using the Lucid Virtu driver but the Lucid Virtu driver included in the current DVD driver disk is only an evaluation copy but user still could use the Lucid Virtu function while using this version.MSI is validating the new MB bios combined with new lucid driver and the final Lucid Virtu driver version will be officially released to the website after the validation is done.

Thanks for your cooperation in advance!

Best Regards,
MSI Technical Support Team'

I did purchase the board with the intention of using lucid, it doesn't let me add games or use Badaboom while in 'virtu evaluation' mode.

I've had this board for 4 weeks now with still no proper fully working virtu software.

I was too late trying out virtu to return the board under dsr!(tried it 1 day too late:()

Apart from the virtu issue(the GD65 virtu works by the way), there is an issue with the uefi bios taking ages to post if you have a mouse with 2 HID devices(SteelSeries Xai), I have to unplug it when booting into windows(I can live with it until there is a fix).

Apart from these 2 issues for me, the board runs very cool and stable.

If MSI sorts out the virtu problem then It comes highly recommended from me.

good deal, except 20% off a sandy upgrade would be more helpful for me atm lol

good saving if you're buying anyway, but still not enough to buy out of the blue for me (almost did, then realised its not that huge saving to make me impulse buy)

Be a good idea for all manufactuers to take on board similiar discounting 'cashback' techniques :)

I have just bought an Extreme4 Gen3, wondered if i should have waited now.

Theres no point thinking like that, none of us are psychic :D

You might have bought this board, and then the extreme4 might have been sold for 5p or something :p

We as customers never know.

The extreme4 looks cooler also :D
