Mortar annoys me but isn't inexcusible. To be honest, it should exist purely with the RPG, to wipe out annoying people like me. Spend most of my time holed up in various locations waiting 20 seconds to take a shot at noobs

Why are all the BF3 servers suddenly empty? Is it because that derpfest COD got released and suddenly everyone deserts BF3? For the past week it was hard to actually find a server with a single slot empty, and now there is tons and tons of empty servers....

You know what it's like, new game comes out and you want to spend the next number of hours/days playing it, just like I did with BF3

The helicopters do the same as the jets but do it all better. Plus they are good for attacking ground targets and capturing flags.

My advice would be to train helicopters first. If you want to unlock flares and missiles early, go on an emptyish caspian border server and use it to capture a couple of flags. At 250 points per flag I think you only need 3 flags and you'll get them both.

+1 I've stopped bothering with jets, they just seem pointless unless I need to take out a good heli pilot who's harassing ground - which isn't often.

Yeah i noticed that yesterday, I had seen quite a few empty servers, before every sever was full!

Thanks for that. Im gonna hit the practice servers tonight and unlock bits for the heli and get used to it

Is anyone expecting the game to change slightly with all the MW3 players leaving? Also, is anyone playing BF3 with a headset, as I am looking to buy another decent pair of cans and somebody at work recommended some Turtle Beach ones, but wondered what comes recommended for £30-60 max.

I bought the LE edition of this and have struggled to find time to play , think ive only unlocked one weapon so far lol , think it was a shotgun.
I loved BC2 so much as well. I must come along to the ocuk servers and have a play this weekend , just been doing random quick plays , i guess its not the same compared to playing on servers where there will be a few "regulars" .

lame so every assault gun takes the sane amount of bullets to kill someone at every range lol? (except the g3)...

the differences between 90% of the guns damage is minimal that's crazy.

Damage is based on the size of the bullet rather than the gun.

You have to take into account the rate of fire/recoil as well.

Mine does this also, tried every fix going, funny thing was I managed a few rounds before it went like this. Reinstalled windows, game, drivers, bios, tried different hardware. Tried the live chat and got told a reboot would fix it - I may have given the chappy a bit of grief. Got to another person and he just said to wait for imminent patch. While I wait I may just buy that rival title... hmmm.

i find it hard to play bf3 as no map really seems to have a front line like in bf1942 , vietnam and bf2..

everyone is just running all over the place almost randomly, hopefully the map pack will have some proper battlefields as it seems more like im fighting in a gang war than an army!

I agree. On conquest, the only front line I find is at choke points on metro or the alley on bazaar for example. They aren't fun front lines to be caught up in either as you always get nailed by an RPG.
