They have done this because in the Beta you could effectively run whilst staying prone.

If you pressed space while prone and held W for a second and then pressed Z you would run forward a short distance while the "getting up" and "going prone" animations happened but your character wouldn't actually stand up.

I used it a LOT in the bushes on the left hand side of the Metro map :p

I was a bit gutted they had fixed it but it was an exploit.

Doing my head in too ... one of the few things that does actually annoy me in this game!
 
Well, that is thoroughly annoying.

Can unlock Flechette shells for any of the non-PWP shotguns but not for the DAO-12 when you unlock it by rank because it's a PWP gun.

What a total crock.

mines fine so far its bad pr if they do ban them as they should never have allowed them to be activated on non RUS ips in the first place..

i wouldnt bother buying the game again eitherwhere as in future i might have bought the dlc map packs so they should be very careful imo.

Didn't the people that got the physical warfare pack get flechettes for the DAO-12?
 
My Russian one is still working. I think it would perhaps be reasonable if they got punkbuster to kick those using other language files on the Russian version. But to restrict a key that they allowed to be activated with no dodgy VPN etc in the first place is pretty off.

I'd be interested to see the response if EA did do it. Valve done the same with the orange box (deactivated loads of copies bought from cheaper regions) with no warning and seemed to come out of it fine. Some of the community even seemed to support the move :confused:.

Wonder if it would be the same for EA, or whether we would get the usual EA is evil crap.

It's great lol, 1 player today kept calling me a cheat as everyone dived into mobile coffins, i mean tanks and continuously took them out in either the a10 or su. suckers :D
 
I only just bought the Russian version, will be very ticked off if they ban me. Nothing against the terms of service, hey i'll learn the menus in russian if I have to.
 
DICE said themselves they did not care with regards to VPN activation and simply advised to the tune of "it's unsupported".

They made it crystal clear there was nothing wrong with doing it.
