Muslims Against Crusades to be banned from midnight

That politicians don't act in the best interests of their people and they can't be expected to make the right call (if there even is one) with regards to censorship of minority groups.

A lot of the problem isn't even to do with politician's as Cas was suggesting, but the media.

Then your question prior to that made no sense at all. You said that you didn't trust them, and that's fine. It's your choice, I'm not going to ask you why you don't because I reckon that I already know and I don't really care. All I was saying was that your trust isn't important.
I'm a fan of small government, I don't think that government should be meddling in a lot of affairs. However, in the areas where I do think government should be acting I believe that they are doing (for the most part) the right thing.

You keep changing your opinion. First it's a matter of trust, now it's to do with minority groups, then it has nothing to do with politicians. I can't keep up with your seemingly random comments. It's late, and I'm going to bed. I have a lot of work to do tomorrow.

My view on the subject matter is simply this - No one should be banning anyone from belonging to any group that they wish and from having any thoughts that they wish. These people should be permitted to voice these views, together, in an appropriate manner. Banning this, which the Home Secretary has done is entirely wrong and we shouldn't agree with it in the slightest. We shouldn't ban things that we are scared of.

Good night.

I personally don't see it that way at all.

I don't view the "Average Muslim" as an extremist or potential terrorist any more than I thought the "Average Irishman" was a member of the IRA or UDA / Whatever back in the times of Northern Irelands "Troubles".

They are the minority, and a moronic one at that.

I am fairly sure, the vast majority of rational people probably think the same.

If my granddad was still alive I'm sure he will teach them a thing or two. he fought in ww2 and other wars and he is a Muslim, it really hurts seeing those idiots embarrass themselves and making the public think this is actually the representative and majority of Muslims.

My question was a response to Castiel's post suggesting that politician's should be 'banning' minority groups like this based on common sense.

If that is the case then you misunderstood what I said, I never mentioned banning anyone or politicians at all. If you bothered to read, I actually said I don't really agree with banning their organisation, I simply don't care enough about them or their nonsense to defend their right to air it.

I said people should be using their common sense and ignoring people like Anjem Choudary and his little posse.

I would think Castiel would agree with me that banning groups is wrong. But I don't want to put words in his mouth.

Edit - Ah, just saw his post above. (Going to bed now!)

Seriously?. Any group + Thoughts that they wish?.

Liberal attitudes are admirable but you really are making yourself sound ridiculous now.

Ok, don't ban groups, let them grow and speak, fascism is the next step, you cant end hatred, you cant stop people thinking what they like, look at John Terry and Anton Ferdinand, keep it at bay, you cant let white people attack black people because of beliefs, vice versa.

Work together, a community becomes a village then a town then a city then a country, fact is that's long gone. We have ghettos in the UK, you are wasting your breath trying to educate the British way of life, **** it lets all have a war.

Im all for banning these guys as at the end of the day they are spreading hatred.

What i dont get is the blatant double standards in this country (which i love) with groups like the EDL running rampant who say and do things 100x worse than these loons. Just listening to one of EDL's speaches should be enough to have them banned but its one policy of one and another for others.

Difference is that one party is a lot more threatening to our society, especially in the long run.

Islam is not integrating itself well, and in fairness I can see why. It's got diametrically opposite views on a number of very important issues.

I can see disenfranchised muslims becoming more vocal over the years, especially the ones that segregate themselves in shitholes like bradford and certain parts of London.

/offensive post borne out of frustration at my current predicament.

More threatning for who?

I really depends who you are and where you are. A radical muslim group may be more threatning to your average "white englishman" but a radical nazi worshipping group will be more threatning to say me your "brown british man".

Are your rights more important than mine. Are your concerns and dangers more importants than mine. You were born in this country just like i was, i dont see why your concerns should be put a head of mine.

"I can see disenfranchised muslims becoming more vocal over the years"

TBH i think youve got it backwards. i can see and am seeing at an alarming rate disenfranchised "english" youth's becoming more vocal. The growth of the BNP and groups like the EDL over the last few years is scary. On the other hand you've got a ralatively small and static group of these muslim nutjobs, its just the same people spouting the same hatred over and over again. As with this group who are basically the same as the last group that got band but just renamed.

wow wow wow.....don't make the leap between Islam and "brown people". They are completely separate things held together by mere correlation at best.

Colour of skin has nothing to do with it. The vast majority of asians and blacks today are probably technically more British than I am, no matter how pale my skin may be.

All I'm saying is that Islam is fundamentally at cross ends with the way we live life in the Western society.

Well 99% of Muslims in the UK are brown people.

Your making massive sweeping statements regarding Islam probably based upon what you see on the TV. You've probably seen Anjum Choudary loads of times on TV and based your opinion on him.

Its like me watching the leader of EDL a few times on TV and basically judging all English people on him, which isnt fair.

My family have been here since the sixties, my father is a bus driver, my brothers and sisters all teachers. 99 % of my neighburs are muslim all again very similar to my family. Im on a computer forum, tinker with PC's most of my times whilst still (i would say) a fairly religious person.

How does this cross ends with western society. Just because we dont go to the pub and spill our guts out every fri/sat night means were crossing ends with western society?

Another thing that ****es me off when people come here and talk about segregated communities and what not is when our parents came to this country, they usually moved in where they had family after all you are in a different land after all. Furthermore my dad tells us stories what it was like for them growing up in the UK in the 70s and 80s where they had to be careful where they could go due to english lads out doing "**** bashing"

Another reason why you get a lot of people in segregated comunites is down to finance. When most of our parents came to the UK they came with nothing, hence buying there first properties in a cheaper run down areas like bradford. Many families today still live in the houses there parents bought 30 odd years ago. Even now the same rules apply in why many asian move to bradford, birmingham etc because its cheap. Heck if we could afford to move out to nice posh white neighburhood with good schools etc i think most would be out in a flash.

Its pathetic that the UK has to do this, especially since soldiers fought for this so called freedom.

I dont agree with them at all, i find them offensive in existence, but it is frankly disrespectful in itself to stop them from doing so.

We cannot win here.

Sadly the recent change that made rememberance day a day to remember all those that have lost their lives in the armed forces instead of just those who fell in WWI and WWII we made it a legitimate target for protests the same goes for the poppy.

I don't agree with their actions or their beliefs but I can see why they chose to do it.

That isn't really a recent change is it? Pretty sure we used the poppy as a general symbol of rememberance of military death when I was a child oh so many years ago. Of course that may have been because I was an army brat?

Yes. How can you justify otherwise. And if I'm ridiculous for believing in the right of free speech and thought and believe that the UK should uphold that then so be it.
I wouldn't call myself a liberal btw...

So it seems free speach is only allowed these days when it conforms with the views of the establishment. Regardless of whether the views these people hold are moronic or not.

Didn't some guy get sent to prison last month for writing something on his facebook wall and then deleting it later when sober?
