So guys does anyone know which version of 2.3.5 I need that doesn't have the samsung stuff on it?

The the stock ROM's all have the Samsung stuff, you just rip out what you don't want after the Roman is installed with the likes of Titanium Backup.

I thought g(gprs) was 2g, edge is 2.5g, 3g is.... 3g, and hsdpa is 3.5g

they're all part of the gsm network.

Edge and its mainly o2 network that falls back to edge. Slower than 3G faster than gprs.

I've seen them all(most) on my phone, G, 3G, 3G+, E, H, H+ all on Vodafone.

You can browse the web on all of them but when on G (2G) you can't have data while on a call because it uses GPRS.

Look up Heimdall, it works for Galaxy S, I think it ought to for S2.

Its a special edited version by three i believe, i get H+ where i never have before, its really good

Not when It's mounted on my dash and I want to T9 search someone via the dialler quickly, landscape diallers are win.
