The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

What sort of performance are people getting? I've got xfire 5850s, and the game scrapes along at ~30 fps with 2x AA and FXAA on, I was expecting much better than that?

Yeap try with a single card, I always think of adding another 6950, but I see so many people having issues with other games I just don't know if I can be bothered with it all.

Just played the first 1/2 hours, very impressive so far. I can not emphasize this enough DO NOT BE PUT OFF BY SCREENSHOTS THIS GAME LOOKS GREAT (mostly:p)

I put everything up to the absolute maximum and i get a constant 60fps indoors but only 30-40(dropped to round 20 during the Dragon attack) outdoors atm. I did however use the tweaks to the INI so maybe taking those off might be an idea.

What settings are we finding to be the most demanding? I would be happy with 50 fps outdoors tbh. (bear in mind i have everything on max atm)

Very impressed so far though, classic ES start, "head to the nearest settlement" .....if you want:D

EDIT- Actually i played on my monitor with kb/m and found it ok, but i will probably move to my TV which is only at 720p with a controller, so i will probably get performance back from that! (without reduction in picture quality, res is overrated)

Anyone had a look through the guide? Considering picking it up but not sure whether to or not.

GAME are selling the guide in store for £9.99 - picked it up this morning. Was a good read about the classes and skills, but not going to spoil any of the other stuff. Just don't want to regret skill choices later in the game.

Had a quick look through the guide at Gamestation. Looks pretty comprehensive & useful but I want to discover things for myself.

Might buy it another time though...

Is this only in select stores or every store? Might pop down now and grab one.

Have they gone more Call of Duty with this or more Morrowind? I know people seem to be loving it but it that because of all the action an ease of play? I like to have to read a manual to work out stats/spell components and stuff.

Is it just mindless fun or a challenge? I mean mindless fun is good but it doesnt give longevity. Do they have quest pointers or are you left to your own devices?
