The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

5 hours in and only just about to clear my first cave lol! i cant stop talking to people and picking butterflies haah! awesome game!

i gotta go play footy now and i cant be arsed i just wanna chill and play skyrim!

Fyi amd released drivers at the end of last month for bf3 support....there hasn't been anything of worth released opp til today, please chill out and act with a little bit of common sense
 
CaptainRAVE - When you got the guide did it have the 19.99 sticker on it and then the reduction was done at the till or was it obvious that it was 9.99? Went down to my local GAME then and it had a 19.99 sticker on it so I left it, wondering if I made a big mistake now :(.

Yeap, they fixed msaa for bf3 in that release so I am happy with AMD at the moment.
 
Ziip came up with the goods, cd key was emailed yesterday and box arrived today. I will use them again.

I think the pre-order map is quite nice compared to what people were saying.

Now to get started, hmmm what class to play :p
 
I signed up for some fighters guild and had to defeat an opponent in a test. I tapped him on the head once and he immediately back down. I thought "this game is so noob, I'm gonna make my own adventure".

Found a couple of giants and went toe-to-toe. Thumped me once and I was dead. Second time I lured them to a local watchtower, stood in the doorway and hacked at their legs. Got me some giant toes now :)

Indeed, but I cannot actually remember the last major PC release where ATI users DIDNT spend at least a few days waiting for ATI to release drivers that nvidia had apparently already released?

Oblivion was (mostly) far too easy/'hand-holding' for me. Perhaps you were just a drunkenapprentice back then?

Edit: The difficulty was in the brokenness, yeah...

I wouldn't be able to put my finger on why but i'm finding that I enjoy just wandering aimlessly in Skyrim and doing whatever crosses my path, in Oblivion i tended to follow the quests and got bored just wandering.

Dont forget that the map is made from paper, so if you want to flatten it for the frame, place a towel over it and use a dry iron on low heat.

Cheers for that. I'll check once I can find something to measure with, but that might involve borrowing from a neighbour. I definitely think it would look good on the wall when I redecorate my room. :cool:

Guy in the office got the guide from game. It had 2 stickers: 1 said £19.99 with a black line through it. The second said "Now £9.99"
 
I like the fact that modders have already released a arachnid removal mod for arachnophobes. Now I think that killing spiders would be cathartic but there ya go.

Huh? All the comparisons are Ultra vs Ultra. Crossfire definitely isnt working in Skyrim atm.

This bit from the review really speaks the truth:

With CrossFireX and SLI being based on profile support AMD cannot afford to lag this far behind on new game launches. NVIDIA simply has more support out of the gate for SLI in new games it seems. Gamers don't like to wait. When a new big title like this is released and unlocked at a certain time on a certain date, gamers are lined up waiting to play it right then and there. It matters that performance and Dual-GPU acceleration is supported when the game launches, and not days after.

So I managed to get an arrow stuck in the side of my face and can't get rid of it. Have tried reloading, sleeping, waiting, restarting the game, unequiping my items... nothing works. :confused:

Annoying to say the least, but at least you can't see it in first-person.
 
Anyone know what Asda (in store) are charging? Will be popping out later and if it's reasonable I'll pick up a copy.
