The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

Argggghhh! I was so excited, i just skimmed the email!

Chillaxx!:D;)
My email doesn't say when, just "upcoming" and the site is down so couldn't check.

This part of the email i found interesting :

s part of this test, we will be partnering with games industry sites to distribute additional beta codes as necessary. This will help ensure we meet our population goals, so we can effectively stress test our servers in preparation for launch. Please do not acquire and redeem one of these codes as it could jeopardize your ability to participate in this test
sounds like codes will be going up on sites like fileplanet or mmorpg for some sort of open beta.
Anyway, back to Skyrim :)

What difficulty setting are people playing on? I raised mine by 1 to expert as the default setting felt a bit easy.

nice game, but on lower end gfx cards it looks really bad! reminds me of half life style gfx at times, (friends pc running only a 5830).

Apart from that, it screams fallout to me! But to be expected!

The night time graphics are phenomenal:

Beyond amazing for a game that runs comfortably maxed out on a GTX 460.

I'll be raising it by 1 too, its too easy unless I do something stupid like throw a fireball on a giant or mammoth.

I can't play this game as i just stand around in amazement looking at the beautiful landscapes!

Even though it looks brilliant, i am going to get a new TV:D

I jsut wish i could get a constant high fps, walking around the first village it goes from 60fps to around 29 with lots on the screen, and that is without any real action. Could it be a driver problem do you think? People using the same card are maxing it out at twice the res!!

I did the same too but found it still to easy on the mage hence switching to melee, it's still a little easy though. When i go back to mage i think im going to have to put it at top difficulty as they do just a bit too much damage.

Yeah i don't want it to hard, but i do want a challenge. I died a few times in the first dungeon, and also close to death a few times. So expert feels just right, for me at least. :P

Robes, mage hood, heavy gloves + boots.

I'm playing like that, I use my spells while I have Magicka, and then a greatsword when I run out.

Thanks
Is it not best to equip magic in left hand and one-handed weapon in right so you can slash and cast damage spell at same time?

Loving this so far, beautiful most of the time just don't get too close those textures lol

Side note, anyone having sound issues? Im running an Xonar DG in 5.1 and whenever I face an npc talking, it gets realy quiet. Have to turn to the side to be able to hear them.

Thanks

No, its best to equip the same spell in each hand with the overcharge perk. Burn your magicka in powerful bursts of overcharged spells, then clobber with a sword.

You can hot key.
1.) Favorite an Item
2.) Hit Q
3.) Highlight item you want hotkeyed
4.) Press number (IE 1,2,3 etc)

HOTKEYS

Taken from Reddit, I'm sure theres a lot that haven't realised.

HOTKEYS

Just finished Bleak Falls Barrow, but as I exit, the game just sits there endlessly on the load menu and I have to force close the game. Anyone else experienced this ?
