The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

Why would you clobber a corpse with a sword?

Theres a lot of enemies that wont die will a full Magicka bar, particularly bosses, dragons and stuff like that.

There are also situations where you will fighting large mobs and you will run out of Magicka killing some, and then use your sword to kill the rest as opposed to glugging a mana pot.

Encountered an ice troll on my way along the main quest (won't spoil it) - could barely even damage the thing, just decided to run past him!

I came here to post the same thing, I'm glad I'm not the only one who struggled, I thought I had gimped my character some how. I also had the same problem with a snow leopard.

Does anyone know if being a higher level would help? Or would the scaling make little difference?

It was strange - I know they have gotten rid of the NPCs levelling with you, but for such a low level area the troll just didn't fit. Up to that point I had been slaughtering everything eith ease (with the exception of a master vampire, but that is to be expected).

I do like the mini bosses in this game.

Mighty tempted to restart my character though - annoying how mages constantly back pedal making it necessary for me to get out my relatively weak magic.

Beyond amazing for a game that runs comfortably maxed out on a GTX 460.

So would I be right in thinking that it'll run fine on my system, albeit with a few settings dialled down? Also, considering the UI, do you think it'll be worth investing in a 360 pad for this game? I ask because it looks to be tailored more towards a controller than the usual PC fare of of keyboard and mouse.

Just have your heal spell in your favourites and switch to it until you get close to em if necessary.

Yea you should be fine on medium settings.

I know what you mean - the weather effects and landscapes are stunning. They really nailed the mountains.

I love the models on the loading screens too - especially some of the creatures.

But the textures are terrible and this game looks crap!

(According to some other posters, not me :p)

There isn't a lot, there's only a few. Magic is insanely OP.

Yeah i don't want it to hard, but i do want a challenge. I died a few times in the first dungeon, and also close to death a few times. So expert feels just right, for me at least. :P

I've cranked mine up to master, was getting far too easy to toast all & sundry with duel-wield fire.

What FOV is everyone using? I've settled on 85.

Also purchased the game today and enjoying it, superb so far. Got it running on high settings on an i5-2500k, 4 gig of DDR3 and a GTX 260, looks great but wouldn't mind bumping it up to ultra so might invest in a new GPU soon enough.

Any idea what the console command is to display your in-game FPS? I tried the 'ToggleDebugText (tdt)' thing but that doesn't appear to be working.

What is wrong with her?
