I must say that, although I really didn't like Oblivion (stopped after maybe an hour or two of playing), Skyrim is FANTASTIC. So much to see and do, and loads of cool/funny/interesting side quests. Only killed one dragon but have made it to the grey beards, level 11, Steam says I've played 16 hours already which is scary! Bought it on a whim not expecting to be my cup of tea, but it already feels like one of the best games of the last couple of years - just a great place to be (playing) and enough going on to keep my interest.

Its really annoying - I have killed dragons and am absorbing souls, but cant use them to unlock shouts!

You have to learn the shouts too.

I have, but I still cant unlock them - it says that I need a dragon soul, but I have them. Maybe I need more than one soul?

Highlight the shout you want and press R to use a soul to activate it

Well ive put 17 hours in this weekend, and every minute was worth it.

Made a little trailer, shameless self promotion but love this game so much.

Just found a way to literally turn iron (lead) into gold

I was wondering around an Iron mine as part of a quest and found a tome for transmuting Iron ore into Silver or/Silver ore into Gold ore. I had picked up 50 odd iron ore by this point.

1) get Ore.
2) Transmute Ore into gold Necklaces.
3) ???
4) Profit!

That is what I am doing (have already done it once), but since then it has told me I have no souls - even though I have killed a dragon and a blood dragon (btw those things are much tougher!).

- certainly a good way to make money.

Edit: Actually, I think I am pressing the wrong button on the controller - A instead of X

It's very slow though unless you're a mage. I had to keep waiting an hour to regenerate my magicka

Anyone came across anywhere to get ebony ingots? So far i've only found enough to make the helmet from the daedra armour set.

Doing the first mage guild quest, in the excavation site.

Statues for the first puzzle won't move.

"press e to activate statue"

e does nothing. Am I missing something?

You can buy them when you get to a high enough level. Until then you have to make do with what you can find out adventuring.

Loving this game, spent way too many hours on it this weekend its really easy to lose track of time just running around exploring.

One thing that does need a patch is to allow your companions to ride on the back of your horse or something. It's really dumb If you have to go somewhere miles away and either having to go on foot or riding your horse and your companion be miles away trying to keep up by running.

So to get the best (stats, and looking) armour do you have to make it? Or can you find stuff? Where is a good place to kill someone who has good armour?
