What film did you watch last night?

Star Wars IV - Revisited a Fan edit by Adywan - 9/10 He's taken the Special Edition cut (with all it's extra CGI) and removed all the crap bits that Lucas keeps adding whilst keeping the none offensive CGI and adding his own into the mix. The Result is similar to the theatrical release (no Jabba, Han shoots 1st etc) but with some of the CGI Tatooine remaining with newly added effects to the final battle (see ALL rebel 30 ships etc) which suits my "George Lucas should stop messing with the story" sensibilities. Very Enjoyable and I understand he's done/doing 4,5 & 6 from the Blu-Ray versions as we speak!

And no doubt will have to sell his car his house and his kidneys to pay Lucas for copyright infringement when the might of Lucas arts comes down upon him like a shiny overenhanced CGI hammer of doom.

Nope, GL allows Fan Edits as long as they don't charge any money for it and put a disclaimer about "You must own the originals" etc, he's actually pretty good about it, his website even lets you download lots of the audio effects too.

Hawk the slayer, cornball sweet 70's sounds, ze dwarf, ze elf, mage, thief, and the warrior champion.

Whats not to love, a template thats still bouncing 30 years later on.

1/10... 9 for the lov'in:)

Tintin - Secret of the Unicorn, with my 7 year old.

8/10. Good story, although slows in the middle. I actually liked the 3d, and I thought the animation worked very well.

Saw In Time tonight, it's watchable although doesn't explain why/how the world is the way it is which might have helped!

Apart from that, decent enough premise and action.

Green lantern - 6/10
Captain America - 7/10 (got worse as it went on)
Transformers 3 - 8/10 (love these films :D, great effects, awesome soundtrack and some scenes are pretty funny as well :p)
Rise of the planet of the apes - 9/10 (loved everything about this film, will watch again soon)
Conan the barbarian - 7/10 (no where as good as the original, and again started off great, but got worse as time went on :()

Midnight in Paris (2011)

A romantic comedy about a family traveling to the French capital for business. The party includes a young engaged couple forced to confront the illusion that a life different from their own is better.

Not laugh-out-loud funny but it was pleasant. If you like Paris and the romance of it all then you might want to see this :) 7/10.

The Tourist

The sort of film you're happy to watch on a Sunday night as minimal thinking is required. However, given the quality of the cast (Jolie, Depp, Bettany, etc.) I was expecting a bit more. 5/10

Ironclad - Medieval action film with plenty of gore, really enjoyed the film. Just a shame they had to include a love story!

Dont watch expecting a history lesson and you will be rewarded.

Oh and I also watched x men first class recently as well, just pure awesome that film! 9/10

And also Harry potter and the deathly hallows part 2, again loved this film and diff much better than part 1, 9/10

Kung Fu Panda - 8/10
3rd or 4th time I have seen it but still a good animated film

Kung Fu Panda 2 - 7/10
Decent sequel but nothing really new

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 - 8/10
First time I had seen this, slightly spoiled by actually knowing what happens but overall I thought a good film to end the series.

Twilight - 5/10
Ashamed to have watched this but was on TV at the weekend with nothing else available and the wife loves it.

Immortals - meh, wasn't anywhere near as good as I was hoping for - 5/10

Pretty visuals, just let down by a diabolical script and mediocre acting.
