right, got everything inside my pc case minus the tube. i may need to buy new tube because i simply cant attack it between two of my WC components.

The issue i am having is that i first attack the compressed fittings on my radiator and then i attach the tube and tighten the sleeve of the compressor fitting. That goes in fine but when i attack he other end of the tube to the compressed fitting on my reserviour, it wont turn. This is because when i attempted to tighten the fitting from the other end, the whole tube starts to turn and its a fight between me and the stupid tube and it will eventually slip out :(

Any tips on how to connect a tubed loop using compressed fittings?

i bought 1/2 ID 3/4 OD tubes and fittings. The tube i am using has a kind of rubber none slippery surface.

Are you sure you're putting the tubing on correctly in accordance to the fittings?

Basically, the compression ring should screw onto the compression most of the way and then you won't be able to pull the tubing out.

Thats the thing. it wont screw on properly due to the WHOLE tube screwing simultaneously with the compression ring

how can u wipe it off when the compression ring is covering the area where i have applied vasaline? i would have to unscrew the ring off to wipe off the vasaline.

you only need a small amout to get it going if you're concerned give the tubing a bit of a tug after to see if it's going to slip out

alternatively try a bit of water just make the inside of the nut or end of tube damp if you're unsure of Vaseline as it'll dry out any how,

sounds a bit gross but saliva is quite slippery

Allot of this thread would not appear out of place in a Julian Clary routine, genuine lols here, especially post #14.

Another tip, fnarr, would be to soak the nut in boiling water for a while so that it expands. It may expand just enough to give a bit of clearance between it and the tubing.

Of course it all depends on how flexible you tubing is for a start. I once bought 5m of tubing and found it so over the top flexible that it was useless for compressions, and kinked at the first sight of a bend. Ending up binning the lot.

I built mine by putting all the fittings into the waterblocks, rad, res etc then as you know you are going to be screwing down the nut in a clockwise direction, give the hose a couple of turns anti-clockwise before fitting the nut down onto the fitting. Kinda evens out the kinks. I also softened my hose in warm water first for the tighter bends. I'm not sure about heating the metal nut first, I reckon that could lead to sore fingers.

And +1 for lollage :o)

yea thats what i did. i put all teh fittings on the rads etc. i just went to he shops and bought some Lubs and also a pack of condoms just incase i get lucky tonight with the missus
