The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

Dissapointing that the companions don't have anything interesting to say, any backstory or actual 'character'. One of things that makes games like Baldurs Gate and Mass Effect is your companions, and I do feel like they've missed a bit of a trick there.

Obviously I'm not expecting them to have some unique comment about every area/monster, but giving them a couple of unique quests each (track down old family member, avenge dead spouse etc) and chucking a few poignent chats in here and there would add a lot, IMO.

I realised this as I trudged up the 7000 steps, and "Lydia" said nothing. I keep forgetting she's there, might as well replace her with a model of a pack mule considering thats all I use her for (and she's about as useful in a fight).

Some companions have a back story :). Also keep yer eyes open for a dog.

Also a below a special companion

Outside Falkreath is a dog that starts a quest after the part when you cleared the dungeon you goto you get a followup quest. Take the dog with you as it is invincible (Granted its dam annoying dog tho always ges in way) But it can fight :) just don't finish the quests or the dog leaves you I suspect

Can anyone tell me how to save the Gray-born song from Northwatch Keep? They wont let him go if I ask the guard and if I walk inside they immediately go hostile. They say they need Imperial Legion approval to get him released. How do I get that?

I thought BF3 was going to be GOTY.. how wrong I was..

Bethesda nailed this, there is very little lineage to the game, nothing feels like its been recycled.

I'm having a blast to say the least!
Tell me about it! I've only played a couple of hours, mainly to familiarise myself with the interface before I start again, but I must say it is actually way better than I expected.

Nothing ever lives up to pre-release hype, but skyrim comes closer than most. :)

Had a slight disappointment with the sneaking. I had to retrieve evidence from a house (in Whiterun, i'm sure most of you know the quest). Anyway, I had to break in to a room to get the documents but there was a lady standing outside the door, so i waited, did other things etc, but she was always standing there. In the end i picked the lock in a split-second when i was hidden, but it wasn't great. Would have been nice if everyone in the house had gone to bed, i thought they were supposed to have routines.
Probably just am AI glitch anyway.

Oh and I love BF£ and was really getting in to it, but i haven't touched it since this came out!

Make sure you wait until about 12pm and normally they're in bed asleep, making for an easy backstab kill :p

Spent the past hour placing the collectables i've been gathering in my new home in Windhelm, even made a full set of dragonbone for one of the mannequins :p I never do things like that in games and always skip them but for some reason even the mundane is keeping meinterested with skyrim.

has anyone got the staff of Jyrik Gauldurson? you are supose to eb able to get it when you kill him but i cant think find it on mine! has mine bugged?

I have just been wandering around exploring, the scenery is outstanding!

However, does anyone else find that when it snows it looks a little bit too washed out, you would think it was black and white tbh, and then when i go further south the colours reappear and it is beautiful again. Also does it always snow in specific areas? past a certain line north it has always snowed for me(though i haven't been north much)

lol brother hood gloves + assassins blade perk = x30 damage for a sneak attack with a dagger :D

my sky forge dagger does 330 dmg like that :D

I do like the game, played through the introduction but I'll probably do it again tomorrow morning as I was just getting a feel for the game.

I feel like a very little pea. The game world feels very alive and looks stunning too.
