This has the same problem as Oblivion really, it's much easier to level some skills than others. Smithing is stupidly easy to level but enchanting is much harder. Then your weapon skill seems to go up much faster than block/armour.

You hit what, 4 times for every time you are hit?

But yea, agree, some just don't increase as fast as others.

Don't forget to select one of the blessings from the three stones which gives you a 20% increase XP gain to any specific skill set Magic/Combat/Thief.

Permanent blessing until you select a different stone. If you are combat based and struggling to increase enchanting, you may choose to switch to the magic blessing over combat.

And you can still level your skills by dropping the difficulty slider to easiest and just blocking in heavy armor and with a shield if you need to.

I forgot all about them stones... Well reminded.... :D

Skyrim = Oblivion + Dragon Age + Fable + Gothic 3.

I like it!

But whats up with the flickering / crappy looking shadows and slowdowns? (Running on PS3)

For people with the PS3 version and slow down or rubbish visuals etc, although Skyrim says it supports 1080i (not 1080P) on the back of the box, you need to run it at 720p. Do not try to get your TV to force it to 1080i or 1080P (if you have that option).

My 40” Samsung LED 1080p HDTV was defaulting this game to a really low sub 720P resolution at circa 560P and it looked like rubbish with jaggies etc all over the place. I forced it to over scan to 1080 through the TV which made it worse and it ran like a dog.

In the end I had to reset the HDMI video settings (Turn PS3 off, hold PS3 power button until you have had 2 beeps, this usually takes 10 secs or so).

TV now detects at 720P and the game is silky smooth and looks amazing with no slow down at all. Although it is only 720P you can’t tell.

My TV says it's running at 720p so I don't think it's that necessarily. If I speak to a character and am locked in dialogue, the shadows flicker in a movement I can only put down to some sort of moving sun/shadow dynamic. It happens every minute or so. Even walking around you can see it happening sometimes too. A real shame.

I'd like to try the Xbox version and see if it happens on that.

I have a PS3 and don't have any of these problems.
