Well i thought when i mentioned the announcements, that it would imply i had read and understood them :p *shrug*

The way your post read suggested that you didn't understand them. If you are aware that the 1.7 map and materials won't be made available for the first week or two then great, you've understood.

One question; where is says "A large area around spawn will be claimed by the admin team preparing it for player and community builds", I assume that this will be marked out before us users are let loose on the new map? I wouldn't want to start building something and then be told to "shift it!" :).

I had no idea you made builds.. thought you were a miner with a wee stone cube house in the middle of nowhere ;)

Yep :) I'll make a border around spawn that is going to be quite large.

I'm liking the sound of this already, cant wait to see it in action.
 
I think it would be brilliant if there is a ravine in the spawn area splitting it in two, fingers crossed for nature! :D

I like that idea! Even if 'nature' didn't provide I'm sure maxi could quickly run a few tnt in a long line and down to bedrock for us! ;)

Mining will always be my first love, but shock horror, I have actually designed two proper and decent builds which I really really really plan to build! (and no, one isn't a big brick rectangle - that's back on the drawing board) :D.

  1. Player 20x20 plots which will be allocated via a raffle, 10-20 blocks higher than spawn.
  2. Market Area for barter signs/trading
  3. Community build area for monthly new projects?
  4. Main transport hub for railtracks around spawn and further afield!
  5. Farm area for melon, cactus, reed, wheat, trees and whatever else people farm these days
  6. Portal area to the 1.7 World and large notice board/donator of the month shrine
  7. Large Mob arena to cater for new mobs and better prizes!
  8. Town Hall region, maybe multiple builds with noob housing, guides and whatever else spawn might need? Also this is a raised area that will overlook spawn
  9. Maybe multi tiered water features to make the slopping height look better, or a ravine could be pasted there instead.
  10. Sloped circle water feature/garden maybe with the central focus point being aimed at donator of the month ;) This will also work as staircase up to the town hall area.

I've got no idea on how to design the buildings and such some each person can start work on a build and recruit some players :p

I know hind will probably like to take over the rail transport! :D
 
My 2p:

The 2, 10, 3, 4, 6 and 5 area is completely surrounded by 9 which comprises of ravine. 7 is outside this, the same as 8. Epic bridges link inner and outer areas...
 
I think we need to decide on whether or not we're using the ravine idea for definite tbh. If we are, then yes, the layout needs to change. If we're not then it doesn't.
 
well why not have 2 ravines in place of 9 and the river running through to each side
so the to lakes marked with 9 are ravines and then the top lake stays :D
