The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

It is great with the pad, but i do get a bit annoyed with the aiming which i am struggling with a little. Sneaking+archery is brilliant in this game!

Also I would like an autosave button on the pad, i haven't actually checked if it can be mapped though?

And it took me ages to realise that the arrows do not drop(if they do, not much at all) like they do in Oblivion, i was overshooting all the time

Did you use next-day delivery? I selected the free option, but sometimes it's very quick. Hopefully this isn't one of the times when it takes a couple of weeks :p

It was the first class option, 2.50 for Skyrim and 360 pad so I thought it was a fair price and went for that. I live in the Isle of Man so I don't think there was a Next day option and the free delivery usually takes about a week to arrive here.

Any recommendations on what Race I should go? I'm really impressed with the sky graphics, looks so real :D.

Credit to Jeremy Soule he's made superb music for this game much like he did for Total annihilation.

He also did Guild Wars. The man is a legend.

It's so natural with the 360 pad that sometimes I forget I'm playing it on PC! The only thing that reminds me is the Steam overlay (which I wish you could open and close with the guide button)

I know right. I was a little unsure at first, having played the others with mouse and keyboard, but it's so comfortable. Only problem is that it's a bit slow when looking around with the bow and arrow, but that's probably just me needing a sensitivity adjustment.

Noob question, I'm currently playing on a 42" LCD on my desk. If I wanted to go 3D, would all I just need to get a 3D TV, an NVIDIA card and those NVIDIA glasses? I'm interested to see what they hype is about and this is something I'm be willing to test it out on.

Soule is fantastic and I've had the soundtrack on preorder for a while now. At the moment I just about prefer Oblivion but that's because I'm familiar with it and can pin good times wandering through Cyrodiil to the more peaceful music.

The music in
Sovngard - Nordic chanting, drums etc
is excellent!

Not a huge spoiler but some people might not want to know anything at all before seeing and hearing for themselves.

Agreed. Skyrim works much better with a pad. The menus, movement, everything. You can tell the game was designed primarily for consoles. My only gripe is the vertical sensitivity which seems way higher than the horizontal - anyone else get this?

On another-nother note, do creatures/mobs dynamically adjust according to your level or are there particular zones with higher level mobs? If so, is there a map of the region levels?

most adjust by a factor of 10, the game will more often then not choose the lowest value of mobs for you to face against within your bracket. ie if your level 24 then it will mostly give you level 20s.

most dungeons are ranked as you enter, though main quests are mostly static to ensure that you cant do the last boss within 10 seconds of the game beginning.

most enemies in the game are easy anyway - even dragons can be beaten with low skilled weapons/magic providing you have lots of potions and then you add a helper into the mix and its doubly easy, so skill up what you want and forget about the level number, the game is meant to be played how you want to play it and its designed for that....theres no such thing as having to do things in a set way.

I'm such a numpty that I ran all the way to the mage college.

That took blooming ages :(

All part of the fun, lol, although I do take the cart when going long distances between cities. Seems like less of a cheat than the fast-travel. I'm hoping for a mod that lets you sit on the cart and travel properly rather than just the loading screen. :P *fingers crossed*

Is the wood elf the best race for Sneak + Archery or does the starting bonuses not mean much in the long run?

I've gone for Sneak/Archery with an Imperial. The starting bonuses might give you a leg-up in the first few levels, but after that the difference will be minimal.

What kind of Health, Stamina, Magicka ratio would people suggest for a dual wielding (sometimes shield, bow) Nord. I only use magic now and again for healing myself.
