Hello, im just wondering if anyone can help me before i order my pc in a couple of weeks, i have quite a few programs and games on my laptop (downloads) is there any way i can get them from my laptop to my new pc without buying an external hdd? maybe it works through Ethernet or something?

Cheers

You will be able to do it by using an ethernet cable and transferring files over a network, no point wasting your time with intermediary devices in this instance!

No, I just fancied stringing you along with a false solution.

Yes of course it will! Why would I lie to you

You can also buy a little caddy and a 500GB 2.5" SATA drive to stock in it for £50 or less, then you have a quick, portable way of sneakernetting 500gb of Data around.

When was the last time you bought a HDD or looked at HDD prices?

The cheapest 500GB 2.5" drive at OcUK is £90.

The cheapest portable 500GB drive is £70.

£50 or less might get you a second hand drive.
