The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

Yup, I had him but be careful you don't let him die. That happened to me and I couldn't get any other followers to come because I already had a follower, albeit a dead dog who's body disappeared. Had to restart my game.

Damn. I told him to wait at the entrance of some cave but when I came back he had gone. I don't usually have a companion so shouldn't be a problem. It was pretty funny having a dog follow me about though.

I am finding the controller more comfortable to play this although it limits the fun I can have with a bow, k+m just feels wrong with the UI and weird mouse acceleration.

Managed to get out of dragonreach i just kept saving and loading until one worked??

So much to do and now is time for bed again and more work tomorrow , lol.

Just started playing this game today, I'm liking the graphics and gameplay. Hopefully it gets more fun as I go along.

I'm very surprised to see my GTX 460 run it with ultra detail, 16x AF, 4x AA, FXAA @ 1920 x 1080! Almost maximum settings apart from having 8x AA.

I'm guessing this game heavily relies on CPU power too which might be why I'm able to play on such high settings with a mid range card?

The last half an hour I have been a dragon magnet just had 3 in a row just wandering about best bit I think, call me the dragon slayer lol.

Funny you say this. I was off on a quest to murder someone, when a dragon took off from behind a hill in front of me. He left me alone, and went after a couple of giants, who proceeded to give him a pasting. There was another dragon in the background, so I rode over to see what was going on, and it was Anduin (the main dragon from the first attack) resurrecting another dragon. Anduin flew off, but the one he revived tried to murder me.

I have some screenshots to post up later/tomorrow :D

Do you think all this crazy stuff like dragons attacking giants etc is a glitch or is actually programmed to happen just to look awesome? Or what?

Help!

I have just started this having never played this type of game before, and I just dont get it. I dont know what to do!

I am roaming the countryside aimlessly, killed a few wolves with zappy hands, getting killed by other things... I have no objective. I have spoken to a few people who tell me to go here and do this, go there and speak to them, but its all pretty placid - I'm not even sure why I am there...

Game looks great but I have no idea how to get started. I want to get into it, but.. well... its pretty slow at the moment.

Any tips?

Think it's meant to be like that, I mean they wouldn't target just you after all. Although I do find it silly that you're meant to be a Dragonborn, one that can destroy dragons, yet 5 town guards can quite easily take one down :p

Press J. Click or press E on a quest. Follow quest markers. That's the general idea.

I was really enjoying this until I ran into a constant crash :(.

Whenever I try to return to Whiterun, walking through the big front gate, to hand in some quests, my game crashes to desktop. Does it everytime with all sorts of different graphics settings, and doesn't give me any error at all. Such a shame! Feel like I've lost 10 hours of my life for nothing.

Wow! You were actually enjoying it?! I'm stunned. :p

I'm sure your issue can be fixed, there are loads of fixes/mods and god knows what else out for this on PC.

Try fast travelling to it, FT to Whiterun drops you inside the gates.

I completely take back my opinion on this being a bit disappointing. I've given it another chance and sunk more hours into it, and now I'm really enjoying it. I think I wasn't enjoying it because I picked the same old class I always do, that of a nord warrior. I've now changed so that I'm much more focused on magic, with a good one-handed weapon ability to back it up, and I'm enjoying it a lot more.

It took me a while but I've just completed the college of mages side-quest. Safe to say I died a fair bit fighting some of the enemies and got stuck on some of the puzzles!

Got in a productive couple of hours play after getting home from work. Cleared out the dungeon to complete my trial for the Companions. Unlocked the new fire blast shout. It totally owned against the waves of undead guys that popped out at the end. Also made a ton of gold from selling all the silver swords and other loot, meaning I could buy the Whiterun house and fully furnish it :D
