Hi Guys

Just installed windows on my 120gb SSD, i left a 20gb Partition free to use for the RST Setup, however when i try and run the Intel Software Setup it keeps telling me i dont meet the minimum requirements??

Ive done all the windows updates and installed all the Intel stuff off my Asrock CD, but still no joy?

Anyone seen something similiar?

Cheers

Oh its Raid Mode? i was told it was AHCI? confused now, regardless its going to mean a new install of windows again :( wasnt there a utility you could use to swap the disk modes without reinstalling?

If you have the Intel RST drivers installed, you can do a registry tweak to get them to work at boot, then you just change the bios setting to RAID from AHCI.

You generally want AHCI if you're using the SSD just as a boot drive, and RAID if you are enabling the SRT caching. I've posted it a few times in here, and someone else had a link to a tutorial.

BTW, when you enable the SRT - I believe it will first wipe your SSD. Unless Intel fixed that annoyance I dont think you can setup SRT while you are booted from the SSD.

I got the Latest Ones, tried that Tweak to the Registry, it let me change it to AHCI and the machine booted fine, but if i try swapping to Raid it will not load windows.

I think i need to bite the bullet and wipe the SSD and start again in all honesty, Im using the SSD as the Boot drive, with a 20gb Partition i was going to use as the SRT Cache.

Alternativly i can just buy a 60gb SSD to use as the Cache, and just reinstall Windows.

Cheers anyhow :)
