Also can i just ask, when using the scar i often nip out from round a corner - spot mein foe - hold shift - this seems to steady my breath and help focus my aim.

is that right or psychological? hold breath works with more than just sniper rifles right? this isn't all happening in my imagination?

no reason not to, have you got it set to single shot as well ?
 
stupid question time............

how does spot work ? I have the default bindings that the game ships with and when I press q all that happens is a bunch of comms options come up. How does spot work and can you rebind it to say middle mouse button in the options window ?

Just tap it: tap = spot, hold it down = commo rose. I'm not sure about rebinding, a few people seem to have been having problems of some sort with that.
 
if u tap q it will spot, if u hold it down for longer than a second the commo rose menu pops up and u can move the mouse to select one of the options.

SHIFT is sprint, didnt even know there was a hold breath option :confused:

It holds breath whilst you're scoped,
 
I'm joining the OcUK Mumble server now for a couple of games, anybody interested in joining me? I'll be playing assault, already completed my engineer class - got to be my favourite. :p
 
I thought you needed to be as close as possible with the pods?

The pods definitely get less accurate the farther away you are, but they're still accurate enough against tanks. The bigger problem is spoting them and getting the crosshair over them from a distance. If someone has spotted it and the red markers are up then using them at a range isn't an issue. I don't think so, anyway.

Not so sure. I used to rule the skies on any level with my AA (75% unlocked) and rack up massive k/d and points and used to be Ace player most games until I came up against two pilots who knew what they were doing last night.

They raped me over and over again.:(

Out of curiosity, do you know which weapons they were using? AA has always been a big problem for me, partly because I always get harassed by the other aircraft and also most of the time I spot an AA it's lurking around the back where my team mates won't spot it for me, so it usually sees me before I see it.
 
I've also been experiencing some problems when I run for cover upon taking contact. I'll run for cover and take a few hits, then once behind cover I'll jump backwards out into the open - dead. On my screen I'm behind cover, on theirs (enemy) I mustn't be. It seems to be worse when standing up and looking over cover, then seeing an enemy and dropping down prone and somehow dying in the animation.

Does anybody experience this? I'm usually playing on servers with a ping below 150ms.

It can be very annoying at times.

Haven't noticed the posts about it since early beta? The game uses client-side bullet registry. What you see on your screen isn't what is on someone elses. In essence, it rewards players with a silly-high ping.

when Karkand hits, I am likely to move to inf only servers, as a plane or a chopper should be as easy as a tank to take down. If not, then dice just do the Bf1942/BF2 all over again.

I completly understand people playing MW3

They are very hard once upgraded. The fact that you need to pump 1000 of rounds into a plane to get it to drop to the ground is unrealistic or 2 missles for that matter.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. Not been reading much about the game on forums excreta. Are you aware of any plans for the developers to change it?

Was playing a game last night on canals and there was one person who just sat in the turret on the aircraft carrier, dice really need to change that thing as he was shooting almost to the other base in that thing and there is no way of taking it out.

I think the only way to take one out is with C4, a real pain in the ass I know. Maybe a few tank rounds will do the job, I've never had chance to try it.
