The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

I just got my little nephew (13) in to this game. He ain't played anything like this before, so its interesting having to tell him everyone on msn and TS.

I think the horses are brilliant, everyone's too used to having a magic horse-in-my-pocket from mmos, this is a bit more fun.

The need to be tie-able though. That way you could forget about them and come back in a month to find a skeleton tied to a tree :D

I think the horses are brilliant

They are a nice addition and they work in context, however the implementation leaves a lot to be desired.

Why, for instance, are they incapable of turning without being at a run? It leads to them having the turning circle of a double decker bus, why as well can they only gallop for about 30 seconds before they need 2 minutes to get their breath back?

The most annoying thing I've found however is the fact the devs thought it would be nice if they "helped" you if you get into combat near them. In reality all they do is get in the way and end up half way across the map because they decided to chase the fleeing bandit I was ignoring.

The horses suck, I don't use em.

I fast-travel to areas I've been to about 1/2 of the time, but a full walk from one side of the map - to the other (exploring all points in a line) takes forever but is so much fun.

Then move down a bit on the map, then go back, this alone would take weeks to do lol.

Looking forward to some offical patches, good mods & DLC - the fallout 3 DLC was pretty good & I hope Skyrim goes one step further.

If the objective is on the same third or so of the map as me I'll ride on my horse and probably never get there before a dragon comes for me and I get totally side tracked and do a different quest instead. :D

I'm about to start a quest that I think will give me a companion. I've already got some nord woman following me though and she's pretty tough so I wanna keep her. If I just tell her to wait in my house (it's not actually mine, I killed the owner and just use it for storage) will she still be there when I return? On my mage character I had some dog following me. When I told him to wait at the entrance of the cave he had gone when I came back. He didn't seem like a proper companion though so just wondering if anyone has done something similar?

I have done a journey from east to west took me ages and I now have so many journal entries I no longer know what the heck I am doing :)

Still not spoke to everyone in all the towns mind. Think I am level 40 now, 70+ Heavy and 65+ One Hand. Have so many ingredients that i am planning on Smithing and making some potions later.

My companion randomly dissapeared too after I went in the Dark Brotherhood sanctuary one time, can't find him now, annoying as I had given him some good loot! Can't find the guy now :/

I leave my nord female companion in pubs or in my house and she's always there when I go back for her.
