Hard Drive Pricing going up at an alarming rate!!!!

I don't agree with that.

If that's what the going rate for hard drives are then that's what the prices should be set at. That's business.

OcUK themselves are buying stock cheaper than what they are selling for. That's how they make money.

It doesn't really matter if you agree with it or not.

That's the rule in the Members Market so if you don't like it then don't sell anything there.

Look in the MM threads where HDD's are for sale.

You'll find the Mods asking people to confirm how much they paid to verify they're not being sold for more.

Out of interest, how can the mods "confirm" and in the interest of data protection are they allowed to do that?

I would say you are well within your rights to not disclose that information.

Thundycat loves to ban people, would be quite comedic if he is breaking the law himself in what he is doing.

They can ask you to post an image of the receipt.

Then presumably the for sale thread would be closed with the seller possibly receiving a suspension/ban from the Members Market.

I do not see what right they have to do that? Its private information...

Theres nothing stopping you from blanking out your personal info, they only want to see the price paid.

Of course you have the choice not to provide proof of the price you paid, in which case you wouldnt be able to sell it on here :)

Just did my first mission the collect the Dragonstone and golden claw and am level 4 am I on track? Or should I be higher?

Really enjoyed this first mission

You are indeed on the right track. I was on level 5 when I collected a Dragonstone.

It's all good fun.

:p

I think the main reason is to avoid "traders" from trading. The MM is specifically meant for private sales (no businesses). If they allowed traders to trade, you would find the forum spammed with 1000s of threads with businesses selling items.

And here is another tip...if you want to sell at a higher price, go to the auction site: you are likely to sell your items at a higher price.

Yeah I understand about traders but if someone purchased a 2TB hard drive for say £60 and now the prices have shot up to £120, I don't see why someone can't sell that hard drive on the MM for say £80-£100 because that's what the current market price is. They shouldn't be forced to sell lower than £60 and lose out.

It's a bit like buying a lollipop from your younger brother for 5p and selling to your friend for 10p :)

It's a forum/community place for us to obtain and get rid of hardware/software etc amongst ourselves

No-one is forced to sell lower and lose out. Taking your example the HDD could be sold at £60 in which case the seller gets back the money he/she paid for the drive, or the other option would be to sell somewhere else where the stated rules don't apply.
