Anyone else noticing that the Javelin seems to like hitting the ground behind vehicles? Even if i look up and fire it after its locked on ive noticed a lot of the time it seems to impact ground instead.

the maps are the same on the console, the flag placement is different and the play area is artificially smaller but all the map assets are exactly the same.

But if you're going to make huge sections of the map unavailable and artificially smaller on the consoles, why not just make the PC 64 player maps even bigger, and just restrict more space ?

As regarding the capture points, the console already has different capture points, so why is it an issue for the PC version to have the somewhere else ? The answer of course is that its not technically a problem. If Dice wanted to move the PC capture points further apart, they already do have different points on the console it's not an issue. They chose to place them that distance

If you look at most peoples stats most people spent far more time on Karkand than any other map, and you could walk easily from point to point. Close capture points = more fun.

Of course it is to do with consoles Pc was lead platform that change whilst developing the game, the maps are exactly same on three platforms the only difference is on consoles they have less Flags. Look at all battlefied games that were on PC only there maps were great as soon as Bad Company came along it started to cocked the maps up

Its nothing to do with the console and everything to do with the player demographic.

They are wanting to make the game appeal to as many people as possible. This involves making the game easily accessible and not having to drive round for 5 minutes just to find somebody.

Its got nothing to do with the PC being the lead platform or not, and everything to do with DICE having different ideas to you about what makes a good battlefield game in the 21st century.

The genre has moved on, and DICE were never going to produce a BF2 re skin with a new engine as some people wanted.

No the genre is still alive and kicking, DICE simply chose to ignore what makes a Battlefield game and run after Call Of Duty sales instead.

I still think the console had a direct impact on this game if this game was not on console the maps would be much bigger can the capture points spread out like they were on other battlefields. As soon bad company arrived on the console the maps were much smaller to cater for "console audience" e.i smaller maps, more kills etc.

On other battlefields if people wanted not smaller maps they join the cut down version of the maps, also its not as simply as moving the capture points if they wanted to spread them out on pc they would either have to reduce the amount of captures points or remake the maps as there is not enough terrain you can not just spread them out with 64 players unless you put in the middle of field which would be useless

Also if you look at other aspects you can tell the consoles have effect this game: Awful como rose, No in game VoIP for PC, Squad sizes cater for smaller teams you could have six players in a squad one previous battlefield games

I really wish they'd fix the lock on system in this game. What is it with the phantom lock ons where you get no reticle but you get the sound, 9/10 you fire the missile and it just seems to go after somthing thats not there. Theres also times where you''re well within range but for some reason you get no lock on option, as well as the times where you lock on, then for whatever reason it breaks the lock and you have to lock on all over again.

I don't think the stealth stuff you can unlock for the jets/helis has been properly thought through really

Its not even stealth causing it i don't think, just seems sometimes it can be very glitchy. One occasion the lock on refused to work untill i switched from the missiles to guns and back again, and thats before i fired missiles from the jet i was in so they were already loaded ready to go.

I think they should make a special co-op mission where you have to creep through dark streets unable to see, forced to use your tac light situationally and briefly, and only let you unlock the attatchment once you've managed to complete it on hard without blinding a teamate and getting him killed. Bloody annoying thing.

Aside from that good evening. Got a couple of promotions and a few nice unlocks. Anyone know why the Bronken servers have been dead though?
