With Lukaku I hardly ever used the sprint button, just weave around with him and he seems to get past players and gives himself a nice bit of room to finesse or power shot it. Also I found that if you have a 90+ pace ST partnered with Lukaku (i.e. Agbon or Chicharito) you can get the fast ST to play a 1-2 pass and that normally tricks the opponent to track the fast one and instead of Lukaku passing it back he gets plenty of space to set up a shot. Scored 41 goals out of 38 games for me.

It's strange how people can play better with certain players, no matter what the stats are. I bought Park for 750 coins the first week 12 came out, 53 games 62 goals. :D I still pull him off the bench to replace my "superior" striker if I need a goal!

Arshavin is another underrated player imo. I hardly ever come up against one but he's 1st choice LW for me. 39 games 39 goals! He's immense at cutting inside and scoring either with a finesse or a piledriver into the bottom corner.

:)That first goal was lucky I was fearing the worst when you scored after 7 mins , but I was giggling like a little kid when that lucky goal went in!

Maybe a stupid question but how do you know which is the players best foot within a second ? Look down at the name of the player on the bottom of the screen? Or just ffrom the position the player is in?

One last question when shooting one on one or whenever does moving the left joystick up and down alter the direction of the shot? Or is more the angle the player is hitting the ball from ?

Sorry for all the questions appreciate you taking the time out to answer them:)

@divaboy - yep, moving the joystick changes where the ball goes. Experiment a lot and you'll get better at controlling your shots. I've found myself pulling off awesome goals due to angling the joystick correctly, something I wasn't doing before.

@roband, send me the IRC details and I'll idle when I get home! I'm a bit of an IRC addict. :D

I pretty much know when a player is on the ball who it is, sometimes players 'look' the same, Schweinsteiger and Robben always had the same coloured boots and tape on their ankles and moved the same and one of them being left footed it was always going to be a mess shooting, then I would probably look at the player bar to make sure.

Aguero and Messi up front are pretty easy to see who they are.

And yes, shooting you can decide what corner you'd like the ball to go, and obviously adjusting how much power you use will determine if the ball goes higher or lower.

So "up" on the joystick tends to make the shot go up on the screen and down on JS tends to make the shot go down the screen so to speak ?

Just started playing some UT again. Got rid of the boring over priced English and in with the amazing Brazilians. Team is SO much fun!

Lmao! :D Keep feeling I need a new striker but Rafael Sobis just seems unreal. Will just have to stick with him. Just discovered 2 amazing players too, Lucas the fast CAM and Alex another CAM, rifle of a shot on him and 5*.

Yeah, pretty much. If you're shooting right and you're 1 on 1, moving the joystick up will go to the left of the keeper and moving it down will go to the right of the keeper.

There are certain "sweet spots" I find. Like when I cut in from the left with Arshavin I can blast the ball across the gk and into the bottom right corner if I angle the joystick the right way.

i usually do the opposite,

i get my slow striker to do a 1-2 pass, so the player follows him and i turn (shielding the ball) with my fast paced striker, and do the old knock the ball past and run with my fast paced striker, usually meaning a one on one with the keeper.

you do know there is an "arena" where you practice shots all day long?

Yes but at the risk of been simple it's shooting up the screen instead of the across the screen as you do in game.

Of I'm missing an obvious option the please do tell. Wet behind the ears with FIFA. Last time I played it was on ps1!

Is Luiz Gustavo even slightly comparable to Ballack? Might need him for CHEM! And so I can get a Brazilian LB (Marcelo) into my Bundes side :P

He probably is your man, better stamina, better speed, bit more agile, better headers, scores some good long range goals, I'd honestly give him a go!

Cheers mate, will try and get him this weekend (unless I suddenly play brilliant with RVP then I'll keep him!)

I use the method you mention too but quite a few players has caught onto this technique so I use the switch methods from time to time and catch them out.

point the stick in the direction you want the ball to go in, regardless of what screen it is.

the player is always facing the goals, so the same rules apply. it's relative to the player not the screen. if you press right, the player goes right, if you press down the player goes down.

if your shooting to the right:

top right corner = diagonally down/right, hold r1 and press circle slightly more than half way (power bar)

bottom left corner = diagonally up/right hold r1 and press circle slightly less than half way (power bar)

therefore your aiming relative to the player and the way he is facing the goals. basically point the stick in the direction you want the ball to go in.

Trying to sell Xavi, and after consideration have decided to sell Aguero in my desire to try out IF Suarez. I can always sell and rebuy Aguero, maybe pick up an IF Pepe or something, but I'd really like Suarez to work out, he was really good when I had him in CF earlier on in a 4-3-1-2. Especially with the dribbling, but we'll see.
