The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

What's everyone's thoughts on paying trainers to level skills? I feel like I should earn them myself rather than buying them.

I usually avoid paying for them, as it artificially raises your character level over time, which can be bad.

I did buy a few levels in lockpicking though, as I tended to be wasting a lot of picks. Cant seem to get the hang of lockpicking for some reason. Is there some trick to it? Or do you just have to fumble around, trying to work out which angle to place the pick and whether to press A or D to turn it?

On the mage quest, final boss called Morokei...how on earth can i beat him, im dead in two strikes and nothing hurts him?

I hid behind pillars. Quickly moved across and then back - he would usually miss with his lightning. Then I'd hit him with firebolt and hide again until my magicka regenerated. Rince and repeat.

Anyone else tempted to just keep the skeleton key instead of return it? I looked into the rewards for finishing it and imo the skeleton key is by far better, Also means you don't need to waste points in lock pick which can be better spent in smithing/enchanting.

I'm worried about levelling my smithing too fast, know it sounds stupid but its too easy to get it to 100 very quickly, I've held off at 50 but don't know when is a good time to up it and use the better stuff I can make without spoiling the game :(

I found it a huge chore tbh. I found a gold mine somewhere which help loads but for the main part I was spending vast amounts of gold on whatever materials I could work with. I wish I'd started early like I did with enchanting.

Enchanting is a lot easier on that note. A petty soul gem with net you the same experience as using a grand gem, so it's easy to buy or steal small gems and bind them to junk.

So I'm really struggling to kill any giants, even with 2 companions helping me. I can't get away from the giant fast enough and keep getting stomped, or mashed with his club. I'm level 5 and have limited spells of flames, sparks, and conjuration of a familiar which is a wolf. I've been advised to go to winterhold to train up on spells, is that the best option right now, and what is this icy looking stamina sapping spell called in the video ? I want it!

I didn't face a giant till i was in the mid 20s. Now I completely own them.

Thieves guild spoiler/question:

Where the HELL is the safe in the Goldenglow Estate?

Edit: Found it

God, Bethesda REALLY should have fixed this ******* engine! Just randomly closed on me!

ive been picking master locks all game long with no points in lock picking..

takes a few lockpicks but they arent exactly in short supply anyway

Ok after messing around and tweaking the game to my liking I've decided to restart and play "properly" this time.

But I'm having a bit of trouble at character creation. I didn't pay much attention to it the first time, but I simply cannot see the difference between eye colours (argonian). It doesn't help that there's no real way to zoom in to the face, so I've got to squint at the screen and try to make out the difference (if any).

Anyone playing an argonian able to help on eye colour selection?
