being about a month in what are peoples preference now on kit role outs ?. I find myself playing mainly Assault or Engineer. For what ever reason I just like being on foot more in BF3.

Kits of choice for me are;

Assault - AK74/AEK/F2000 (all with Heavy barrel / foregrip / No optics) - Defibs - Medi - Squad Sprint

Engi - Scar (Heavy barrel / foregrip / No optics)- SMAW / RPG7 - Repair tool - squad flak

Engi - G36C/A-91 (Suppressor / foregrip / HOLO (American red dot.. w.e its called) - SMAW/RPG - Mines - squad expl.

I think m15 at mines are the best weapon in game if placed properly :D

Can I ask why I got just got kicked from the TFU conquest server for no reason at all?

Was it because I was using the shotgun? If so is it another case of a 12 year old admin in charge, kicking people because he doesn't like something?

I said I didn't want to comment but I need to point something out.

You would not have been kicked for anything unless you were begin abusive, rasist or spawn camping.

Only 3 people have admin to the servers, it was more than likely a random kick by something your end or a kick to make room. You would have been given a reason in the kick message.

As i previously said we've taken the "OCUK" name out of our server, the 64man server is now 1000 tickets and fast respawn time/vehicles and our TDM server is hardcore 250 tickets..

Something I do love about BF3 that I think voids 'best kit roles/setups' is that I find I need to change my kits not only depending on the game type, and not only depending on the map, but even the section of the map; a certain flag in conquest or even more, a certain sector on a rush map.

May sound like a stupid question but what is the quickest/best way to take down armour as an engineer? It is the class I've played least, but just unlocked the javelin yet the advantage a tank still has is stupid.
Firstly they can tear you apart instantly, fair enough, but yesterday playing on Operation Firestorm and Caspian Border the other teams would just sit in tanks a short way from the flags and destroy anything in sight. I brought out the javelin and started trying to take them out, but for each time I hit them the driver or gunner had enough time to fully repair the tank with a ****ing zippo lighter before my javelin was ready to fire again :/ Same with SMAW/RPGs, they do so little damage that can be repaired so quickly you may as well not bother.

I do agree with you, but i'm on both sides of the fence. I think RPGs, Javelin etc need a slightly faster reload in order to take down tanks, but i also think a slow reload promotes teamplay so more than just you hits the tank, the problem with the latter, is that teamwork isn't too common in this game.

I agree with you Rogue, I love that idea in this game - the one thing that annoys me is when 90% of your attacking team on rush are sitting behind with snipers and not contributing much to the main objective! - there should be some kind of camp-metre mod on some servers/maps! lol

With the engineer if you can get next to the enemy tank then use your repair tool to wreck it. It is actually very quick to do this and once you are next to the tank there is nothing they can do if they have no inf support.

Agreed, I don't want it to be stupidly easy to take down a tank but on the other hand if you have a team of dribbling morons like I was with at the time you don't stand a chance, and a tank can just sit there the entire round ending up with a huge score for the driver and the engineer constantly doing the repairs.
I think the repair speed of the engineer should be lowered, if anything. Being able to repair a tank at 50% health in the few seconds it takes to reload a javelin is crazy.

I rock the EOD bot against tanks. Half the time they don't even see it coming. If you rotate the arm to the side and do a drive by you can be in and out without ever stopping and they don't know what hit them. It doesn't always succeed, but it's hilarious fun when it does.

I don't know if repair speed is the problem, I think it's the repair amount that needs to be nerfed. I don't know if it's just me remembering it wrong but in BC2 I remember only being able to repair about 50% of a tank before the tool had to "cool down" for a bit. I don't know if I've ever had to do that in BF3, even when I'm crouching behind a tank under fire.

Whilst we're on the topic of tanks, etc. Yesterday i was getting hit by something, but when i only got hit once, my health dropped from 100% to 50% in one hit and it started to decrease, as if what hit me had a damage overtime effect, what is that?

Once a vehicle hits 50% it gets disabled and goes on fire, and gradually the health winds down. The only options then are to use the extinguisher if you've unlocked it, get an engi to repair you or bail.

So, what can drop a tanks health from 100% to 50% in one hit?

Not entirely sure. You didn't get C4ed, did you? Apart from that I think something pretty powerful would have had to hit you on the top/rear armour.

Nope, wasn't C4, as i was in third person at the time looking around, nothing was near my tank.

I had an enemy tank take me from 100% to 30% in 1 shell to the rear vents once. I think some other things can do it to the back vents too, like jet ground missiles and RPG's.

The only things that can do 50% damage to a tank in 1 hit are C4, AT mines, a TOW missile/tank cannon to the rear of the tank. Even jet & helicopter missiles to the rear only do 40% damage.
