The XDA poll suggests about 60% of Nexus owners have the issue, I imagine it's a software issue and will be fixed quickly, but we'll see.
 
If I have any problems with mine, can I return it at the 3 store instead of posting it back, even if I ordered it from 3 online?

Might be a deadlock - did you reboot the phone?

Chiz - sorry then, that's really where I thought animation control was. Without messing about with framework-res.apk (and I am in position to tell you how to do it) I'm not sure how to turn it on or off :/

yeah did a battery reset, looks like i may need to return it. if i cant write to the phone im buggered!
 
If I root the phone would I have to do it again every time there's an update to ICS?

The only app I'm really interested in atm though is the ad blocker so not sure if it's even worth rooting it.

Just to double check... the usb connection isn't set as a camera? (pics from simulatorman)

na i even tried both, i went to windows update and saw a driver which i hoped would fix but no, i cant write to the phone..

just tried to create a new folder and it comes up not responding

That last one would have been my perfect contract. Shame I'm with Orange

yeah tried all USB ports, USB 3, 2 and the one on the card reader. also tried debugging and def on MTP.

oddly it works on my laptop which is pleasing in one way as im buggered as to what it is with my pc grrrrrrrr

A factory reset has fixed the issue.

I believe this may be due to me playing about with different launchers, but I cannot be precise for why this happened?...

Anyways, this has given me a chance to try out the backup and restore function of ICS. so far..... it's restored nothing. I must be doing it wrong!
