***** The Official Galaxy Nexus Thread *****

Does anyone know if you can stop the display automatically sleeping? The highest you can set it to is 10 minutes, but I much prefer to not have any limit and just lock it when I want too.

There is a stay awake option in developer options but only when its charging, the screen is by the biggest drain on the battery and if it didnt automatically sleep you would drain the battery in no time.

Chiz, that it the Google music app, as long as you have set up an account (in the USA) it will sync your music.

Jimlad, have you tried resetting your phone, i notice youve got sdk on there, have you done some thing to cause the problem ?

We get it. You prefer the S2.

i'm trying to understand why you'd swap a sgs2 for a nexus. I love the best tech, but this move makes no sense.

It didn't make sense looking at the specs on paper, and still doesn't days after release.

I never really liked either the physical design or the screen of the SGS2. The physical design was too like the iPhone, and the screen was too keen on colour-banding everything. I am also tired of gingerbread, and very keen to use a version of Android that's a bit more up to date in terms of design and features.

good old honest review http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1353749

post 5 confirms my thoughts earlier in the thread, and don't assume i'm poor because I chose to not go for this upgrade/sidestep.

Ok ... I'm going from an X10 mini pro with an unused 8 Gb memory card to a Galaxy Nexus (havnt ever used any other Android, iPhone or Windows Mobile device).

Am I going to find the Galaxy Nexus to be a bad phone?

no, but you'd find the sgs2 as good and have £100+ to spend on beer:p

THE SCREEN

Now I like this phone, many people in this thread like this phone, own this phone or want to get this phone, now go away!!!

You love the best tech (whatever that is) then keep it and stay happy. We've moved to our version of it and we are happy too. :D Sounds to me like you're enjoying a little troll, n'est-ce pas? :p

If I had an S2 I likely wouldn't, besides I'd still be in contract anyway.

I'm moving from a Desire. I'm choosing the Nexus for the screen and ICS, it also feels better in my hand than the S2. I have access to an S2 and iphone 4 + 4S, but ultimately I prefer the Nexus.

I know you're holding out for the S3, I may well end getting that when it comes out and sell the Nexus.

On a different note, I finally managed to get tracking confirmation from RM for my GN, should be here tomorrow. If anyone wants any specific iphone 4/4S, S2 and GN comparisons let me know.

I've found a lot of people are moving from the Desire and that's a brilliant upgrade IMO. The GN is better across the board.

Factory reset Jimlad?

Oh and Tim, you should give up your little 'crusade', some people think the Nexus is better and prefer it to the S2 (they are justified in doing so, the devices are FAR from identical), get over it.
