I don't mind the Javelin itself, but if you only get 4 of them, even with the explosive perk and I've had situations where I haven't even destroyed a tank with all four shots to the front then something needs to be done?! it's too weedy. The only benefit is the lock on, but unless someone is lasing the target (which doesn't happen very often!) then you need to stay in LoS for what seems like ages. There should be a benefit to this! When you equip the Javelin it also says it has a bigger warhead than the SMAW or RPG so it should give a bigger bang and do more damage.

I played an hour or so just now, I seem to be able to focus better in the dead of night :p I played on a random server but I do love going around trying to take down choppers :p This one was one of my favourites of the session tonight :D

 
, RPG's that vanish into thin air if you die

This is beginning to annoy me as well, its not only rpgs but nades as well, threw a nade on some enemy landmines and before it blew i died and the nade just vanished, annoy also when u fire a rocket at the tank which only needs 1 more shot to destory it and he kills you whilst its in the air and it just vanishes :mad:
 
Patch notes for Nov 22 patch
Major client update for the PC version Battlefield 3 as well as a server-side update for all platforms.

The update will be made on Nov. 22nd 7:00 AM UTC / Nov. 21st 11:00 PM PST.

We’ll share release timing on the console patches as soon as we are clear on the timing, these take a bit longer due to console certification process.

• Disable Privacy flag when 1 man squad
• Reset Privacy flag from Private to Public when squad drops to 1 player
• All occupied Squads will now show up colored blue on the Squad Selection screen
• Players who choose not to join squads will also show up as Blue in the "Not in a Squad” line
• Squads that are currently empty will display as white -- if you wish to join an empty Squad, you can choose the first one marked with white text


- A detailed look at Squad refinements

Today's PC client patch features numerous tweaks to Squad functionality and is part of our ongoing efforts to make it easier to play with friends and Platoon mates. These changes will also be implemented for consoles when we release the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 updates shortly. Stay tuned for the exact date of the console updates.

First, we need to look at how joining with Squads and Platoons affects the balance of teams. Initially, servers are commanded to equal out each side, so joining with friends can impact that balance while joining with Platoons further hinders this. As a result we have made some adjustments to the in-game Squad management screen.

For PC, you are now able to highlight the various Squads and select which one you wish to join by selecting a Squad and then clicking the Join Squad button. Please note that the Squad Privacy option still allows 2 man Squads which, during 64 player sessions, can lead to players with no squad position –- the number of people with no Squads will be shown at the bottom of the Squad selection list.

After the patch is applied to consoles (in the near future) you will be able to join Squads by cycling through the list and selecting which Squad you wish to join.

Because the AA guns needed buffing vs infantry.

That's a welcome change.

Great, so now by the time a Stinger might actually land a hit after multiple tries it'll do next to bugger all damage. This is a direct result of all the day 1 whinging about stingers raping the sky, now that most pilots have stealth and flares the stingers are next to useless, so obviously the best thing to do is nerf them further by dumbing down their damage. Good job on the kneejerk reaction Dice, obviously well thought out. :rolleyes:
 
Looks like a pretty impressive patch, as it should be for such a long time coming. If DICE fixes the crashing, black screen and Eyefinity issues I will be mightily impressed!

Although I am disappointed they did nothing to the super silent ninja enemies.

A few notes:

Nothing about IRNV adjustment?
Nothing about remembering previous map settings so that every time someone enters or leaves a vehicle it resets your map to default?
No scoreboard ping?
No mortar limits?
No clickable map?
No adjustment to suicide height?
No flashlight adjustment?
No overdone sun-glare adjustment? (especially for us eyefinity/surround users)
No adjustment to frozen in place after revive?
No adjustment to the goofy ladder mechanics?

I don't get the reduction in damage from the MANPADS. Those things are so easy to spoof you waste your time using them.

I guess I won't be using the SCAR-H anymore. Decreased damage AND decreased range, combined with low ammo count and high recoil. The weapon is now worthless compared to others and no reason to use it. I love double nurfs.

IRNV was always going to be in a future patch. It was never going to be in this one.

Suicide height is fine to be honest, as are the ladder mechanics. Can't say i've experienced the bug where you are froze after revive either. And i doubt they are going to change the sun glare. Thats a delibarete effect.

Don't feel mortar limits are needed either tbh. Haven't played a single game with more than about 2 mortar players in.

Flash light tweaking was supposed to be in this patch however. That's a curious omission.

Patch does indeed look really promising, just curious to know where would this console command above be located? I want to limit my FPS to around 50 as i hate the sudden drop from 60 to 50 and im hoping by setting it it might hopefully cure the stuttering

one more reason to play on servers without planes

as it was planes are next to impossible to shoot down and now they can affect the ground combat even more way to ruin the game dice

Apart from that it sounds good. Not sure of the need to nerf the SCAR though, I thought it was pretty useless as it was.

You don't have that much hassle from them, do you? If the pilot on your own team is useless, and your chopper pilots are too useless to use their heat seekers, and you've no AA vehicle, get someone to set up a SOFLAM. Those things bug the *!&"% out of me when I'm flying.
